ShaneB Posted May 16, 2009 Report Share Posted May 16, 2009 OK well tonight we had to really nice toms come to within 75 yards we had a hen decoy out infront of us and we were in a blind but they would start looking in our direction but they would just run off anyone got tips? Wimpy Posted May 16, 2009 Report Share Posted May 16, 2009 I had the same problem this year and it turned out to be the decoys scaring them off. The biggest gobbler I shot this season was scared off by the decoys so after he left I went out and got the decoys and put them in the blind with me. Long story short he came back in later in the morning and I harvested him. I was also hunting out of a blind. You might try it without putting decoys out. This happened more than once this year so we started hunting without putting decoys out. Last year decoys worked great for us. Go figure!
