hutchies
I went to mom's house today because she told me the family dog hasn't gotten up since yesterday even. Mom was awfully worried. After looking her over I figured she was stopped up and we loaded her to go to the vet. Vet took one look and gave me the bad news................congestive heart failure and the bloating in the abdomen is from the fluids building where the liver is kicking them out...................We only had 2 choices........Put her down or put her thru had medicine and more than likely she would pass anyway. After talking to mom and her crying for a while we decided to put her down. Jazmin, our golden retriever, was 10 and lived a good life but this was one of the hardest things I have ever done..........One minute she is loving on me and the next minute I'm signing papers to put her out of her pain. This dog used to travel everywhere with me................even was at work with me when I used to work from home so this one is especially tough. Alisha
So sorry to hear about Jazmin. The same thing happened to one of our beagles a few years ago and we made the same decision. It's most definitely in their best interest rather than going the medicine route. Again, sorry for your loss..... it's very tough!

OJR
Sorry to hear this. I hate putting pets down! That is why I don't have one now!
redkneck
That's bad. I had to put my mutt down last year that was 15. He had cong. heart failure for years, and finally went totally deaf so he got ran over once or twice. Last day, my wife backed over him, and i had to take my .22 and put him down. It's a hard thing to do. My wife got him at the pound way before we were married. The more you pay for a dog, the faster they die, i think, lol. I feel your pain bud. Dakota
I know how you feel, bud. We had to put my Schnauzer down in '99 when he was only a year and a half because he contracted E-coli. I was 10 and we had lost our last Schnauzer to diabetes in '97. Praying for you, bud! Dakota
