Robinhooded a carbon today

Went over to a friends place today who's been helping me with my shooting. I've only been shooting a compound for about 3 weeks now but have improved quite a bit. I was shooting pretty decent at 15 yards when on my 2nd shot in one group I heard a really strange noise. I went up to the target to find the knock missing and the arrow split about an inch down the side. I went back for a third shot, but I guess the adrenaline got the best of me, third shot was a couple inches off.

Here's my 1st ever attempt at 30 yards (without hitting a building) and with my new sight and release. I didn't want to tempt fate and stopped there.

And here's my last group at 20 yards.

Hopefully sometime I'll be slapping carbon together at 40 yards.

Unless you have a pile of excess money laying around, I would suggest that you begin using the multiple dots on that target face for one arrow per dot. I found out years ago that trying to pile an entire group into one bullseye can get very expensive very quickly.

I hate to bust your bubble but that isn't a robinhood, like Tom said. It's a good busted knock shot, a robinhood is a shaft stuck completely within the other shaft. Fine shooting none the less, keep it up.

A good tip to save on moeny is shoot at single dots at 10, 20, and 30 yards, then try to stack them in a 40 and 50 yards.

And the arrows have to be in the bullseye.;)

I'm not sure if Friar Tuck and Little John have to be there to witness the event. Maybe we could get Chris and Craig to stand in on their behalf.

Nice shooting John............addicting ain't it.

Yes, as a matter of fact I'm forcing myself not to shoot tomorrow. I've been doing it so much lately left shoulder and back are killing me. I went out this afternoon intending to shoot 3-4 sets of 4................two hours later I'm hurting worse.

On the plus side, my last group was at 30 yards and was about a 4" group. Not bad for a 3 week old archer I don't think.

Got a JimT release today and shot better. Though I did shoot my 12 and walk away this time.

I did find out the hard way not to set the trigger too light. Did you know at 1/2 draw a 43lb bow can put an arrow through vinyl siding 3/4" plywood and then 1/2 through a box of MRE's?
