Strut10
Well........the '09 edition of the OTPG's Spring Lead Fling is behind us. However, some echoes of the fire-breathing mudhole stompers present still ring through the valleys of western Pennsylvania. This Fling was a small, but quality, gathering. A total of 5 (all forums members.....4 official OTPG members) were in attendance. After a hearty breakfast at Eat'n Park (Fire Mountain neglected to inform us they had stopped doing breakfast a while back ) we made the trip out to the range to commence firing. Not all the photo documentation was of my own. Here is a picture of Snapper taking a picture. (Notice the long sleeves........it was darned brisk early on today) After I initiated the range with a string of .300 Weatherbys.........Silverado Kid started to work on one of his "magnums" as Uncle John, Snapper and Lil Strut10 look on. Is that pink I see???? Here's Snapper working on a Ruger 77 .338 Win Mag for his dad as Uncle John calls. Again, Snapper with a very purty Sako .300 Win Mag. The pic does not do justice to the piece of wood on this gun. Here's Uncle John going long......ringing 300 yard steel (yes.......300 yards!!! ) with a Ruger Super Blackhawk in .44 Rem Mag. Can you say "serious Kentucky windage"?? :D:D After some instructions from Uncle John......... ........ Lil Strut10 tries his hand at the long steel with the big old wheelgun. Here, Uncle John readies my .375 Weatherby to toss a 250 grainer 300 yards downrange. Hang on after the shot!!!!! Once again, another OTPG event is a great success. Small.........but a great success. Anyone who's ever attended an OTPG eating/shooting event will tell you what a blast is had by all present. The 600 yard portion was, again, scrapped due to windy conditions. We had to call it off last spring, too. Hopefully we can get some long stuff in again at the Blast Off this fall.

snapper
Yeah...I would like this thing to turn into something a little bigger. If we had a few more folks attending...I'd say skip the breakfast/lunch deal...I'd load up the grill and cooler and have a cook out...burgers/dogs...while burning powder!
