FrontierGander
Just off the big brown truck!! I have shot it 6 times today at 20+ yards. I have NEVER found a sweeter shooting rifle right out of the box! I am shooting apox 2 1/2" to the left so i will adjust once i am finish cleaning the rifle. ZERO blowby after 6 shots, ZERO kind of soot/fouling on the frame, ZERO, not a friggin hint of fouling in the breech plug threads. I am however getting a really good crud ring, but i can deal with it and push through. Maybe some kind of roughness thats catching it? Either way the rifle is just amazing. My heart feels like it did the first time i dropped a pair of panties  Recoil isnt even noticable with the thumbhole stock. Im not sure what the nonthumbhole feels like but this one is excellent. They even put some gripping texture in the palm swell and it works great for a non slip grip. The thumbhole stock itself is easy to get your open sights in eye view. They come into view as soon as your cheek hits the stock. Its a comfortable thumbhole thats not to big - not to small, just right for my big hands. Very very comfortable. Trigger is amazing, the best ive ever pulled on any muzzleloader ive owned. Maybe 1.5 lbs with Zero take up / Grit ( i will have it tested) Barrel cleaned up with 3 windex/water patches ( both sides) No snagging or anything, just one clean motion down the barrel. The ramrod is great as well but one thing that bothers me. Its aluminum and i can NOT stand the noise that an aluminum ramrod makes. I prefer flexy plastic but this one does perfectly fine for me. Maybe i will see some fouling when i go to the bigger 444 powerbelts? Very impressed by simple things such as the box that it came in  ooooooooo!!! New Quake sling also impressed me greatly over the previous designed sling that came on my Winchester X150. Very soft and flexy and does a great job at staying on your shoulder. First range target. By the way, this target SUCKS when you are shooting open sights. After 3 shots, Second go round with a new target that i could see. Next time will be 100 yards off a sand bag. I was using a fence line here. Notice, no fouling or Residue in the BP threads. Its all on the face of the BP and the smooth section. I only finger tightened this one as the manual says to do. More to come!

FrontierGander
If i put a scope on it i'll use a current bushnell trophy 3-9x 40 ( nickel) that i have on my 30-30. I'll also go with the durasight rail base and QD rings ( All in black)

Be sure to snap a couple pictures if the scope gets mounted .. Don't you just love NEW toys ..
FrontierGander
Man i am STILL shaking from the excitement! Tomorrow evening i may set up a sand box out at 100 yards and do some shooting. Weather report looks like rain all week ( doesnt that figure?) so i will see what i will be able to do with the 245gr powerbelt. Today i was shooting the 245s with my custom inserts that make them weigh out to 256 grains. Some 348,405 and monster 444's are already in tubes, ready to go LOL. jesse8953
How does it pattern at 200 yards? Looks like a nice ml you got there.
FrontierGander
im still getting sighted in at 100 yards. 200 yards is out of the question with open sights during hunting season. The deer look like tiny dots at tha distance. I need to pick up some muzzleloading primers and ditch the federals.
FrontierGander
Welp im on the right path!! The 245's are now printing 2" at 100 yards with 68.4 grains ( by weight) pyrodex RS and the cci 209M primers. I have a great deal less fouling in the barrel. I think once i get the muzzleloading primers i will be able to shrink that group even more (i'll add more powder first) and cut down the fouling inside the barrel. Again, Zero blowby with the 245's. This is going to change once i load up the 348's here in a bit. Heres some pics, this was 2" with the 245gr Aerotip. I may have pulled #3 but you know how open sights are. 2 1/4" with the 348gr Aerotips ( thanks again Batchief ) I was wrong today. Heres the action after 6 shots total INCLUDING with the 348gr Powerbelts. It was the damn Federal primers fouling up the inside when i'd use the heavier bullets  Some random pics of my baby. Dakota
Never have been a fan of powerbelts, or sabots in general, but that's just me. I prefer Maxi Ball 375gr. conicals. But hey, whatever works for you, bud! Dakota
