WHISKEYSWAMP
I went out around 8am on Sunday, the final day of Ohio's season... I was just trying to get a gobbler to respond as I walked the creek bottom behind my house. several hundred yards down I watched an eagle take off from the tree tops and fly around for a little while... it was the first eagle I have ever seen up close in the wild... it was definitely a sight to see. after a little more calling, I started walking across a bean field... as I crested a small hill, I seen the bearded hen I've been after the last couple weeks... with the sun at my back she never seen me and continue to feed. After watching which way she was heading I snuck down the opposite side of the hill she was on and crawled to a patch of weeds to have a little cover. After setting up with gun ready, she walked right into my ambush at around 20 yards just a few minutes later... I had to adjust my position slighty and she started walking away, but not fast enough to escape the load of number 5s. she has a 7.5 inch beard and weighed around 15 pounds...
