Doc
That is the stupidest looking deer I have ever seen, and it only proves that with enough human interference, you can produce freakish looking mutants. So what.......we knew that already. Doc
fly
Soon we will all be able to clone a 400 inch, 500 inch, whatever inch deer we want and release it into the woods and go "hunting". I've heard that a vial of DNA from these giants can get pretty expensive, but a lot of outfitters and "hunters" are flipping the bill with hopes of growing giants like this guy on their property. I wouldn't want any part of it personally.
Shaun_300
Wow, what a monster and freaking looking rack. If it gets much bigger he'll have a hard time keeping his head up! Sort of looks that way from last year. It'll be interesting to see the updated pics and videos of him.
Doc
Soon we will all be able to clone a 400 inch, 500 inch, whatever inch deer we want and release it into the woods and go "hunting". I've heard that a vial of DNA from these giants can get pretty expensive, but a lot of outfitters and "hunters" are flipping the bill with hopes of growing giants like this guy on their property. I wouldn't want any part of it personally. Wait a minute........why hunt it? Just place your order, and they can send you the head mounted to your specifications, and flash frozen venison packages. That's where all this garbage is heading anyway. Now we have manufactured trophy deer. What has that kind of nonsense got to do with hunting? That is just some entrepreneurs satisfying a market consisting of those that want a trophy at any cost. Unfortunately, that mentality is growing. MichiganHunter
Well Not still looking at it as a hunting deer, but it is cool to see what you can do with good deer genetics. Now I never want to hunt on a high fence ranch but this is a great animal and its cool to see such a thing walking around at two years old. Doc
Yeah, it's kind of like looking at a two headed calf. Freakish enough so you can't look away, but not really something you would really ever want to own. Basically a waste of time money, effort and research. He's real as all get out that's for sure, but I believe they may be pushing the envelope a tad when it comes to his age! If they are pushing the age then it is only by one year I'm sure. Looks pretty young.
redkneck
He does look young. It really is amazing what you can do to one with good genes and a ton of protein. I honestly dont know what I'd do if he stepped out in front of me. I think I'd be beside myself as it really doesn't even look real!
Bowtech_archer07
I don't think that deer is 2 years old... His body looks too mature. Maybe that is because of the protein and all the other crap they are giving him. I agree with Doc on every comment he has made so far. I would not want to see that specific deer in the wild. If I saw a buck that had that kind of REAL genetics, not man made, that's a whole nother story, but that just ain't right having a man-made animal like that. Just my 2 cents.... MichiganHunter
Ya, I wasnt posting this as a deer that should be shot, or hunted, its a pet-livestock. but its still cool to see a deer like that, pretty freaking amazing ya know. I would love to see how much the sheds on that one sell for.
Doc
Ya, I wasnt posting this as a deer that should be shot, or hunted, its a pet-livestock. but its still cool to see a deer like that, pretty freaking amazing ya know. I would love to see how much the sheds on that one sell for. Actually, I don't think he is a "pet". That pretty much looks like a deer farm where genetics, diet, and DNA are controlled and manipulated for some very lucrative results. The first financial gain that I see them getting from all this is the pile of ads from food-plot seed marketers. I would suppose that another source of income from this manufactured freak would be stud fees so that other deer farmers can tap into his genetics. And why would so many business people spend good cash on something like this? ........ Well, it is obvious that the fantasy of shooting such an animal is a big advertising draw. So while this animal will never be shot, the purpose of investing so much time, money, and science into such a thing is still based on the trophyism that runs rampant through deer hunting. The idea of "A trophy at any cost" is what drives this result. Will such an animal ever be huntable? ......... You bet. When hunting preserves can buy similar freaks, and for the right price offer him to wealthy "hunters" who just want to have the biggest rack hanging on their wall that money can buy, they will be made available for hunting. I don't know whether anyone noticed the other mega-bucks that were in the background, but it sure was obvious that the owners of this buck have something going on there that provides some freakish looking racks that would be very desireable for stocking high-end shooting preserves. No, it isn't a pet. It is an investment that is worth a lot of dollars. Doc
Tom2008
The farm that this buck is on is for hunting. There is website on the whole operation. They grow these massive bucks. Release them onto a fenced in area and then people pay money to get a crack at what ever class deer they would like.
