jesse8953
Just wanted to know how many of you are NWTF members:confused: Thinking of signing up but money is tight right now.
snapper
Member here...can't think of too many other ways to spend that money. I know things are tight (it is for everyone), but between the NRA and NWTF...they are just like a bill I "have" to pay!

toddyboman
NWTF and WU for me. Not to hi-jack but here is a little more info for you...... I am on both local committees so I help run/organize the banquets, and I am co-chairperson of our WU so I am very involved with it. They both are great organizations IMO. I write the checks and help organize the way we spend our WU funds. Here are just a few things we do with the money we help 40+ disabled hunters an opportunity to hunt deer and turkeys, we give local 4h and FFA kids a chance to go to camps related to the outdoors, and this year we are developing about 15 + acres of food plots to help educate others on proper food plot management and give others just a place to go and view and enjoy the wonderful outdoors! There is several other things we do as well just those are the biggest things we do. These are things that our LOCAL committee does, lots more gets done on a national level! Its just a way to help support the sport we all love so much.....Or atleast that the way I feel.

colorado bob
I'm a member. I'm on the local banquet committee, have been for several years. This year we gave a couple of jakes hunts at the banquet. I took a 14 year old boy out on his 1st hunt. Showed him how to pattern his grandfather's Model 12. Let him learn to call on my Lynch 1 sider. We called in 4 gobblers----2 jakes & 2 longbeards. He shot one of the jakes @ 20 yards. He is from a single mom------the dad is long gone. Going to show him how to shot a rifle this summer. It's a good outfit. But like everything the more time you put in---the bigger the reward you get back. deerslayer06
this was my first year in the NWTF and served on our chapter's banquet committee. I endorse the NWTF 100%, its a great way to meet other hunters. I have became close friends with a couple of them and they actually helped me harvest my first wild turkey this spring. For college students membership is only $10 and that includes the 6month subscription to Turkey Call, the magazine. Well worth my money! join the nwtf! Tink
NWTF Drops Womens Magazine WITO NWTF announced Friday the are stopping publication of the great Women's hunting magazine "WOMEN IN THE OUTDOORS" Its a slap in the face to all women Its a sharp stick in the eye to the turkey industry which is very well funded. A year or two ago Drake Shurley invited some NWTF execs on a turkey hunt in Sonora Texas at the elbow ranch he wons. They flew in onthe NWTF private leased jet aircraft. NWTF paid for the jet Plus the ran offFounder & CEO for 30 years Rob Keck the man who took NWTF to where it is today God knows we need all these organizations: NRA SCI NWTF ATA etc but to dump on women who make up 8% or 9% of all US Hunters is insane. They are Merging the magazine into other publications including a wheel chair hunters magazine. This will be be the biggest SNAFU since Jim Zumbo attacked Black rifles Calling them AR 15's " terrorist weapons" and unfit for hunting. No sir I would withhold all renewals and new memberships until they reinstate WITO And I am not a Woman Just a woman's hunting advocate of many years. I have a daughter, grand daughters and step great grand daughters that I want to see being able to hunt and bowhunt Please call the NWTF Monday at 9 AM and Act to speak to the Executive Director Vice President for membership and Vice president of Publications.. and the Ecex director seperately callback each time. Used to be a chapter VP Maybe there was not enough subscriptions sold to justify having a all womens magazine.I don't know any women that get that magazine.I think the nwtf should make 1 magazine for adult hunters.I don't think it matters if you are a man or woman as long as they put out a magazine with lots of information and good stories.I think they still need a kids magazine like the jakes. jmo
