My daughter brought this home as a school question.

a man walking down a road comes to a fork with 2 men standing in the fork. he needs directions. one man in the fork always lies & the other always tells the truth. what one question can he ask to get directions?

What time is it? (make sure you have a watch on :D)

He has to ask the following:

What road would the other guy say to take? Then take the other road.

If he happens to ask the liar, the liar will change the answer of the guy telling the truth. Take the other road and you are good.

If he happens to ask the person telling the truth the lair will lie and the truth teller will pass that on. Hence you take the other road.

This is the only logical answer.
