back40
I have a food saver sealer and want to know if anyone has tried other brand bags? The food saver bags are considerably more $$. I know the other brand bags are 3-4 ply vs food saver are 6 ply but not sure if this makes that much of a difference. Thanks!
wtnhunt
We use the food saver a lot; fresh frozen vegetables from the garden, pork from the store, and all our venison gets put up in food saver packaging. You can reuse the bags, we reuse bags used for vegetables 2 or 3 times depending on the size. Have tried a few other brands, the rival bags work pretty well, the ones that wal mart carries(off brand) are junk, very thin and do not seal right with the food saver model we have. Would be great if there was a place to buy bulk size rolls, we usually get ours from sams club 6 rolls to a box. I have looked online and never been able to find anywhere cheaper than sams club. Maybe someone might know a place to buy them bulk. Reminds me I need to order some new foam and get new vaccuum lines, starting to have a little trouble with the ends of the lines. Heavy Metal
Ditto Wtnhunt. We've experienced the same thing. Just stick to the quality off brand ones. HATE HATE HATE WALLY WORLD!!!
KirkV
Ebay has some descent prices on the bags sometimes.

wtnhunt
Just a bit of a note here, be careful on the ebay bags. I checked out some sellers there and some of those deals are a bit misleading. A lot of sellers have rolls that are listed with foodsaver in the title, but then go on further in the listing to say that what they have up for sale is NOT foodsaver branded, but instead a generic.
