Canon or Nikon?

Recommended Posts

I am wanting to upgrade to DSLR and am looking for input as to either Canon or Nikon. At present I have a Nikon 5700 and have no issues with it other than slow response in low light. I was thinking about a Nikon D80 or D90 but had a call today from someone wanting to trade me out of a cuple of knives for a new in the box Canon Rebel Xti. Any and all input welcome.

Don't really know that you could go wrong with either Ross, I went with minolta since I already had some lenses. Really wish I had of known that sony would be coming out with their lines so quickly after I bought mine. The new sony dslr's are pretty nice too. Hard to believe that they are getting cams up to 25 mp's now.:cool:

If you already have decent glass for Nikon, I'd stick with that. Both are top of the line. I use Nikon but there are plenty of pro canon shooters too. Slow response is just a sign of an inexpensive and perhaps outdated focussing system. Speed always gets better with $$, LOL

I just got the cannon rebel and its awsome, only thing I recomend are to get filters for your lenses and a eye cup extender, its super fast gets awsome pics of sports it will constantly shoot in the sports mode, got pics of my daughter playing ball, caught the exact instant she hit the ball, and right before and right after, cool to see the ball coming and going!only thing to make sure is that the nikon has a stabalizer, i know the cannon 75 lens does and it really helps in good pics, the 300 I have does not and it requires a tripod to get really clear pics,[some cameras have it built in the camera, I was told they are not as good of stabalizers, billkay would know better]

good luck and be ready to have hours of reading to figure out the camera lol!!
