As we all know Kathleen (aksheephuntress) and Terry are sponsoring a moose and bear hunt this summer. It is her greatest wish to turn a dream of two long time members Norm Sauceman and Mike Hoffman (too_pointer) into a reality. It would be impossible for these guys to ever realize their dreams of going to Alaska. Both have been somewhat incapacitated with disabilities and would never be able to go on this adventure within their means. With your help we can realize a wish and a dream. What is needed from the generous members of the Realtree Forums is to donate items for auction or to make a cash contribution of whatever one could afford. To get things started Kathleen and Terry will be auctioning off a Weatherby Vanguard rifle in .300 caliber. It is a brand new gun that has never been fired. There is no scope mount or rings. I will be donating a scope to bid on. If anyone has anything to contribute for auction please PM me with the details. We hope to try and keep a timeline for all of the auction item bids to end together. Some details still need to be finalized. The target date for the official start of things is Monday, June 1. This knife will be similar to the knife pictured but the winner will get his or her choice of handle material that I have available (with the exception of Mother of Pearl). Knife will consist of a 3 inch 440-C Stainless clip-point blade, Brass liners, Nickel Silver bolsters (Front and Back). Again, the winner gets his or her choice of handle materials that I have available ( with the exception of Mother of Pearl). Knife has a total overall length of 7 1/2 inches when open. Auctioned items would be sent from the contributor to the bidder once payment to the address (more than likely mine) we decide on is received. The cash donations will go to the same place. I should have word shortly and post a thread with ALL of the details. I would like to post all of the auction items together with stickys so none of the item posts get lost. Having been to Alaska 4 times fishing it is quite the place and if I can help someone else experience Alaska that would be a joy in its self. For all who have an item(s) to donate: The way the auction works is that you post the thread with the item you wish to donate. When the final bid is in, the winner/buyer sends the money to the trustee (myself in this case), who in turn notifies the seller, who then ships the item to the buyer. Shipping details and cost are between the buyer and seller. As for help in posting pictures there is a tutorial in the Photography & Video roomthat will help you through it.
