Re: Hunters Scored for 2004!!!

I took this buck on September 10, 2004 in Saskatchewan. I was shooting a Bowtech Liberty and Easton Lightspeed 400's tipped with 100 grain thunderheads. Shot distance was 35 yards. Deer went approximately 100 yards before going down.

He grossed 188 and change.

Re: Hunters Scored for 2004!!!

Well my 1st two days were pretty uneventful. No one was seeing deer move due to high winds.

The 3rd evening I got out late and a storm rolled in so I got down 2 hours early to check out all the field. They like the rain here and hit the green clover during the evening.

Deer groups were coming out everywhere by 6pm. I put on 5 spot-n-stocks in 40 minute, the very last resulting in a nice doe. 115 lbs field dressed.

It was a 36 yard shoot at last light and I hit her a bit forward..

Like in the neck!!!

Although at the time I though it was a good hit seeing the arrow sticking out of her as she bloted into the thicket 3 yards away..

I must of hit the juggler beause she layed down in the tall grass.

Luck for me the arrow was still in her with its 7" reflective tape wrap sticking up. Its the only way I would of found her. The rain was pouring and I had no blood to follow.

I killed a nice 120-class 8 pointer Saturday night, unfortunately while I was making sure the batteries were charged on the digital camera, I forgot to put the chip back in. Nice buck, came right in on the trail I was watching, down into the creek got broadside at 15 yards and ...game over.

First Bow Kill

I took this deer only because of luck. It was only my second day in the woods with a bow, ever. This deer came within 12 yds. of my stand and looked right up at me twice and still didn't see me. From the picture he looks like an eight pointer but he is actually a ten. He has about a one inch kicker on his left G-2 and also has a 4 1/2 inch G-4 on his left main beam which blends in with the top of his G-2, if you look hard you may be able to make it out. I have been watching this deer since August and have over three hours of video footage.
