Strut10
Getting ready to head out to do some plowing. Me and my brother decided to try putting some corn in the other part of a field we have a clover patch on. The clover patch is about 3 acres. The rest of the field where the corn's going is probably around 5 acres.

Strut10
Pictures please. Especially if you pull out that Oliver Green. Sorry, Chris. Can't feed your Green addiction this time. I only have so much time to invest in this project. So I went with the go-to rig. International 585 and an International 3x14 plow: An action shot. I can't believe this turned out. It was shot on the move. The sod was rolling nicely today and I made pretty short work of things pulling in 5/8 between 6 and 6 1/2 mph. Not too shabby for a small rig. The completed plow job: Dimensions are about 190 feet by 900 feet. Ended up going back and getting the disk and finishing the whole deal off. Took me twice as long to disk as it did to plow. Rougher than a cob. The entire first pass with the disk was made with me standing up on the tractor so my legs could absorb the beating rather than my back. dogdoc
that plow tears that soil up and that is some really good lookin' soil. Good luck with the plot.
Strut10
Seems like you posted pics of that same spot a few years back Don. That sure is some pretty country, and going to make for a sweet plot. Very observant, William. A couple years back I did the section to the right of the plowed strip with white clover. It's still got a year or two left in it. Then you'll probably see more pics of the same flat.
Strut10
that plow tears that soil up and that is some really good lookin' soil. Good luck with the plot. Probably the nicest day of plowing I've had. Conditions were just about optimum.......soil moisture......weather. I wish I coulda had a video camera mounted on the back of the tractor seat looking down at the plow. The sod was rolling so fast and so well that the plow created a diagonal line of 3 tunnels or whatever you wanna call them. Sort of like a pipeline in a breaking ocean wave. There were 3 places you could see the sunlight shining through from the back of the arcs of rolling sod. It's hard to describe. But it was so cool. Besides all that there's just something about the combination smell of diesel smoke and freshly turned earth.

Strut10
Corn's up!! Did a drive-by tonite and there's corn up a few inches. Deer are already eating it. Didn't have the camera. Will hope to post some pics when it gets high enough to see well.
