Strut10
Took a quick ride up to the Strut10 Ranch last evening around 7:30 to check on something. In the space of about a 1 mile ride across the Ranch and 10 minutes time we saw 13 doe!! 4 in one bunch........2 in another......then 2......then a single......then 4 more!!! All of them without fawns!! 7:30 must have been coffee break time for mama deer last night.
JimT
Too funny. No fawn sightings here yet. Camera goes out today though.
wtnhunt
Not seeing any fawns here yet either, but sure there are some out there. Those momma's are usually pretty good about hiding the little ones.

ruttinbuc
I had the very strong odor of a dead animal drifting from across the creek in the back of my place. Curiosity getting the best of me, I put on the boots and followed the smell to what was left of a dead doe. Wasn't much of her left as there had to be a zillion larvae fighting for what was left. I didn't see any sign of a still born or anything. I'll check and see what I can find when the insects are gone. I am curious now to how she may have died. Saw a couple of fawns up near the hunting ground last week.
Nickel
Those little fawns are experts at sitting still when first born. I have almost stepped on several over the years and they never moved. But mom was never far away i would usually see her within a few yards after wlaking away.
Shaun_300
Cool! Mom said she saw one in the farmers field behind our house last evening, first time we've seen one out there since we've lived here! And that's been 15 or 16 years.
