Bowtech_archer07
As many of you know, I'm a firefighter/first responder on my town's volunteer fire department. Well this morning at 6:18, I was really wishing I had never joined. We got a page this morning of someone possibly passed away on their back porch. We get there, and it was an extremely close family friend, that has been like a grandfather to me all my life. The guy was a prankster that could compare to no other and always had a joke to tell. He had been sick with leukemia for a long time, and I know he's at peace now, but it's still hard to lose somebody like that. If y'all wouldn't mind sendin some prayers this way it would really be appreciated. This man was definitely loved by all who knew him. Thanks;)

redkneck
I know what you mean bud, I got paged to a wreck involving a friend i had just had christmas dinner with sunday before. It was christmas night. I think he had a heart attack and ran off the road, and was barely hanging in there and died soon after. Always harder when you know them. But think of all the ones you help, and know that someone made a difference in their lives in an hour of need. john

Bowtech_archer07
Thank you all very much;) but there is one last sad part to this story. We all knew it was what happened, but the cops treated it as a crime scene. This man committed suicide yesterday. There were some suspicious things that the cops and the coroner were concerned about so they treated as a crime scene, which is what they should have done obviously. Like I said this man had leukemia and had begun to deteriorate. He did leave a note and I guess he just wanted to end things on his terms. I really don't know. All I know is that I'm going to miss him. Thanks again everyone for your thoughts and prayers.

jm23494
Hang in there, it is never easy to deal with any kind of death in the business, especially if you know the person. I'm sure that this will make you a stronger person so that next time it will not be as rough.
