The_Kat
Just got off the phone with my boss and they FINALLY ( after three weeks ) have decided to send me to Yankton, SD to go to work. I gotta call back at one to get the exact date I start the project and what not, but I'm glad to finally know where I'm going to spend the rest of the year. Who all lives close to there? I looked on mapquest and noticed it was right on the southeastern border and not too far from Iowa and Minnesota. Anyone know much about this country? hammerforged
Great Pheasant hunting there. You won't be too far from Sioux Falls.
Gator
I do believe Leatherneck is close to there, if you want, I can call him tonight and find out. How close to Sioux Falls are you? Hammerforged answered that question. You will be REAL close to him I beleive. Looks like I may have a road trip this fall.

Dakota
I live in Tea, Kyle, about 50 miles (45 minutes or so) north of Yankton. Let me know when your up and maybe we can hit Archery Outfitters in Sioux Falls and see how good that Hoyt is to my Mathews! So...wait...the rest of the year? Does that mean you'll be up here when we leave for the Wyoming antelope hunt? Dakota Edited June 1, 2009 by Dakota

toddyboman
Is Jen going with you? or will you be back in time for baby Cash? Have a safe trip!
The_Kat
Jenn will be staying here and hopefully I will have enough notice to get back in time for Cash's birth. Sadly since I've been off for 5 months I have no choice but to go now if we are going to keep our bills paid. Jenns got another year of school to go before shes out. I'm gonna miss out on alot but I gotta do what I gotta do to provide for my family.
ruttinbuc
You have to run way south to get to Iowa, Kyle. Nebraska is close. Good luck with it out there.
The_Kat
Mike yankton is actually not that far from NW Iowa. I just checked on mapquest.

Dakota
You know, Kyle...you told me once that you'd really like to go mule deer hunting at some point. Well, if you're up here the rest of the year I'll have to take you after muleys, goats and pheasants! :D:D I'll do it too. Dakota
The_Kat
I'm hoping I can get my residence license after being there 30 days cause your outta state licenses are HIGH!!!!
Dakota
Yeah...I'd recommend the combo (hunting/fishing/trapping) that's what I have. Archery deer tags are guaranteed and so are goat (antelope) archery tags. You need to come rifle goat hunting with us though...now that is a BLAST! :D:D Dakota
The_Kat
We'll just have to see bud. I only get one day a week off if any so times short. But you know I'm game if I have time!
Dakota
Hey, no problem! How will this affect the WY antelope hunt though? Dakota

The_Kat
Just got a call and was told it will be another friggin two weeks before we leave out. I'm so friggin sick of this hurry up and wait game! They're bout to stress me out with this crap for sure. I just told him I'm not calling them back and to call me if they need me. I'm going to start looking for a new company to work for....this is BS!
ruttinbuc
Mike yankton is actually not that far from NW Iowa. I just checked on mapquest. I was just "yankton" your chain. IA does not look far until you drive it. No draw for Nebraska which is a sleeper state for big whitetails. If you have the time that is.
