RTF
Well this past NY turkey season really sucked for sure. We went out yesterday afternoon to retrieve our game blind and found that some scumbag stole it along with $100 in decoys bringing the total theft to $400.00. They also stole one of our good camo hunting chairs. They left behind my turkey tail, one chair and two feather-flex decoys. Why is beyond me. In order to have found this game blind, they would have had to trip over it. This all happened on private property and the only one who had permission to hunt was me. Just venting
mike13candace
That's terrible.....hate when that happens... Hear about this in town where someone steals a tree stand or two.. I would love to catch someone in the act. Turkey vultures will have a nice dinner...LOL
VermontHunter
That's my biggest fear of leaving anything out in the woods. ..
terry264
Private property is where one finds all the "good stuff" that isn't on public lands. I don't leave anything out there that I can't part with. Shame.
Rhino
Sorry to hear that RTF. Fells like you were violated eh? Well you were! With the way the economy is and the increasing loss of jobs, thefts from scumbags will probably get worse.
wtnhunt
That really stinks, sorry to hear it Cliff. Unfortunately Al is probably right, more scumbags getting bolder trespassing on private ground and ripping off stuff.
NiteRunner
That sucks. Surprised they left you anything.
fly
That sucks. Surprised they left you anything. May have been too much for the lazy $#@! to carry out or not enough to go back for! Anyway it really is terrible and I'm sorry for you. I hear a few of these incidents each year which is why I generally don't leave anything out in the woods even on private land. I'd love to get a trail camera, but the risk of someone stealing it keeps me from doing so.
Turkeygirl
Wow, horrible to hear buddy! That stinks....Wonder if it was the 2 escaped murders from Arkansas that were caught just under an hour away from my home...not far from where I just finished nursing school...lol
Nickel
sorry to hear that. i to have had some tree stands stolen or vandalized. on both private and public lands. guys think they can just chain stands to trees but if you have the right wrench you can get it down and leave nothing but the chain. i now use nothing but climbers or if i am coming back to the smap spot the next morning i may risk it. RTF
The worst part guys, is it was only 1/2 mile from my house. Been hunting this property since 1982 without incident. Oh, btw, I am going to put an ad in the paper to tell the person or persons that they left the turkey tail behind, and that it is a must have for the Pretty Boy decoy they took. Without it, the decoy is useless. Please come by and pick up.
RangerClay
Gee Cliff that is too bad. Hope you catch the guys who did this. Also you were correct, this was a really bad season for turkeys here in NY.

Kels
So sorry to hear that, Its just took bad how some people are. We have had an on going stuggle up at my cabin. Its private property with signs all around it, and what do we find? deer stands scattered all over our 80 acre plot. One smack in the middle! Shouldnt have to worry about walking around your own land, but we do..during deer season in particular.
GWSmith
Sorry to hear about your property being stolen...Hope they shoot off thier mouths some night and get caught! I got lucky this year and got my blind back that I put out:cool:... before the first Turkey season that things never came together enough for me to have a chance to hunt in:(
redkneck
Man that sucks big time. A few years ago a guy I know had his muzzle loader stolen from his shack. Duh... who leaves a gun in the field? But he had been doing it for years and no problems on his own land. He had a thought to check his game cam on the power line. Sure enough some kids were on it walking right past it. Got his gun back to say the least.
hungry hunter
That sucks. The one thing about thiefs is they have big mouths. I had three guns stolen out of my truck a few years ago and I am still looking for them. Hope ya find the idiots who took it.
