johnf
I've got a chance to get a Winchester Model 70 with a synthetic stock really cheap, but I really don't want the gun. I would like to sell it for a profit and get me a little pocket 9mm. The action is probably 95%+, but the stock is a little dirty. It's got rings and a scope, but the scope is a cheap simmons that really does'nt add anything. So what would be a good price to sell it at? bluelund79
What is the caliber? Approx how old is the firearm? Lastly, while the action is good, how is the chamber and the barrel/rifling look? Those lend alot towards the value...
doubleA
There are several things that will matter.... condition, cailber, is it CR or a PF action. Being that's it's a synthetic model. With the advent of Wallymarts and the like, companies brought of low grade budget models to sell too, this can be a factor. FNH USA is now producing the M70's, so that can be a factor too. Our economy is down, factor that in. Lots of variables for sure, I would say if you can get it for a song, buy it and try to sell for what you want, your local market will dictate the price. johnf
Will it say on the action which one it is? I know how to check the rifling, but how exactly to do you check the chamber. BTW it's in
Hoosierbuck
Hey John- It's easy to tell between push feed and controlled feed-does the bolt have the huge Mauser style extractor along side it, or is it a smooth, round Remington-looking bolt? CRF may say something like "Classic" on it. HB
