toddyboman
I'm sure you guys have seen this........I was shocked by this move. Why would you have the guy do rehab and then when he says I'm ready to go....they say ok...and cut him:confused: Sounds like the Braves didn't want to call him up and have to pay him. craig mack
Yeah I was kinda surprised to hear that also. The thing I always liked about Glavine was, he never looked like he was throwing the ball hard. It always looked effortless.
VABuckSlayer
They needed another bat/outfielder and got the opportunity to get McLouth for Pit. Guess they needed to save some $$$ and that was one way to do it. Unfortunately it's like they all say... "it's a business"!
muggs
Pretty harsh treatment for one of the best pitchers in that organization's history... He'll land somewhere, Dodgers, Tigers...Yankees, Red Sox...the usual suspects.
The_Kat
It was a slap in the face to glavine. I see why they did it, but it was crappy none the less.

JimT
He got the shaft bad... I hope the Braves tank the rest of the season.......
buckbuster11
Can that guy even throw 80 mph anymore? I don't blame the Braves at all.
Chrud
Can that guy even throw 80 mph anymore? I don't blame the Braves at all. The NL Pitcher of the Month for May barley hits the mid-80's. And he's made almost every batter he's faced look like a complete fool.

rhine16
The thing I always liked about Glavine was, he never looked like he was throwing the ball hard. It always looked effortless. That's because he wasn't.... Lets not forget what Glavine did to the Braves a few years ago guys. But, It was the only sensible move for the Braves to make. You've got Lowe, Vazquez, Jurrgens who aren't going anywhere.... then you have Medlan and Hanson(both recently called up), who are suppose to be the best pair of pitching prospects since the Braves had Glavine and Avery. You've also got Tim Hudson thinking he is going to make a comeback(I see no room for him either.... look for a trade as the deadline approaches). That is one too many effective pitchers already. Just not enough room for Glavine. The only thing that would justify keeping Glavine around is that there is no southpaw in the rotation. Obviously the Braves would rather go with 5 strong right handers then 4 rights and 1 left that may not give you a quality start half the time. Remember, I'm a diehard Braves fan and was very glad to see Glavine come back. I just don't think there is a need for him.
