YEEEEHAWWW:D WE BOTH :)FINALLY DREW BUCK TAGS;) FOR UNIT 55:cool:. IT'S TAKEN THREE YEARS. I CAN SMELL THE VENISON COOKING ALREADY. NOW I JUST GOTTA LOCATE SOME UNIT 55 BULL ELKS.

ALSO TO FIND OUT IF YOU DREW GO HERE: http://wildlife.state.co.us/Hunting/BigGame/DrawResultsAndPrefPoints/

You can find out if you drew a tag by going to the license page and attempting to buy a habitat tag or a license. The list of tags you already have for this year will pop up and tell you if you drew or not. I got mine. The list is due to come out on the 11th.

As I recall we each had one point from last yr, as in 2007 I drew a doe tag for unit 55(much to the dismay of my daughter[i screwed up her app] ). In 08 we hunted unit 28 off of leftover leftover list tags we bought online. The mulie buck tags we drew this yr was for 2nd rifle(daughter cant come as shes still mothering a 10 month old son in Savannah). We apply as a 'group' so we either both draw or don't draw(except when I screw up the app).

Our plan is to hunt deer early and elk late( not my idea). So we'll probably get 3rd or 4th rifle OTC bull tags for some place(?) .

Let us know your plans too Jeff. Hope you and son are well.

Congrats Charlie!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

What season are you going? And how many points did you have?

I just applied for PP for deer this year. That will give me 4 points and Jake 3.

A friend of mine invited me on a trip to Colorado for a hunt in an upcoming year. I've never hunted out of state and don't really know what I should be doing. The hunt would be on his family's private land in units 3 & 4 (both are CWD zones) and we're looking at possibly 3rd season rifle hunt for mulies. I checked previous season stats for preference points required for the specifics I mentioned, and it was zero. I don't really know what this all means and would appreciate help for anyone who may know more about this.

Any info on applying and the units I mentioned would be extremely appreciated.

It is really to late this year for you to do anything. I will check when I get back from vacation, on monday, on what your draw odds are with 0 points, assuming that is what you have, but being that you are talking about PL you probably will not have a problem drawing. If you have any questions about the application process, asked away.

Thanks for the info. My friend who's family's land we'd be hunting, said the same about drawing on private land.

This process is all new to me, but I'm excited about the opportunity.
