magnatecsteve
I have a NAP Quicktune 4,000 Micro adjust rest..The only thing I like about it is that it is micro-adjust. I also hate the steel cable that attatches the arm to the cable slide. I really like the Trophy Taker launcher arm design. So, I'm gonna ditch the cable and use some nylon string to the cable to raise the arm, just like the Trophy Takey. Also, I'm going to try to fabricate a lizard tongue style arm like the TT. Not sure exactly what material I will use for the launcher yet, is the Trophy Taker metal or a nylon like material..can't remember. I'll take a pic and let you all know how it goes. If not I guess I'll just have to fork out the cash for a Trophy Taker..
mainebuck
Re: Customizing my drop-away The forks on the trophy taker are metal. Kind of noisy out of the box. They give you some silencing fleece to cover it with but I still think that makes a little noise. I take buckskin and cut it to fit and sew it around the forks. Nothing quieter than the leather on a rest.
