bowtech31
I was just wondering if anyone shoots a heavier broadhead with their compound bow. ie. 150 to 200 grain heads. I was thinking of trying it out. I shoot Easton Axxis ST 340, will that arrow hold up with that heavy of a head. I shoot a Bowtech Allegiance set at around 70 pounds. Tink
I shoot AXIS /beman 340 with 100 grain brass Muzzy weight inserts and 125 grain heads that equals 225 grain BH great arrow flight & good FOC Flight and quick Kills!! many guys who bowhunt Africa use this combo the Easton Axis 340 is so stiff its hard to break one with your hands if you crack one's nock Go for it With most 340 your best FOC is with a heavier head Trad guys shoot 700 grain arrow from 50# long bows and blow thru bear & piggies TINK
Tominator
Used to shoot a 180 head way back when I first started, but not anymore. It's really not needed for whitetail IMHO.
stcif
I like this topic as I am in the process of doing the same thing. I just bought some Carbon Express Heritage 150's. 10 grains per inch. I am going to use real feathers and brass inserts with probably 160 or so grain Zwickey broadheads. I figure if I can get 225 fps with this combo the kinetic impluse would be quite high. My current arrow BH setup is about 417 grains. This should make it well over 500 grains.
