Dakota
Good luck this week all you lucky hunters! Looks like it's going to cool down a bit by the time we get there on the 6th with highs only in the 60s. Hey, if you guys see a heavy horned 15-16" buck with "Dakota" spray-painted in orange lettering on his side don't shoot him, he's mine...just throwing that out there right now...:D:D Dakota
Spring Tom
Steve has an antelope tied to a t-post in his back yard for anyone who gets a spider bite. There is also a mule deer doe who likes tootsie pops. It only takes her one bite to get to the center. Good luck hunters, I know there will be one on the ground right about..................................... now. Spring Tom

stevebeilgard
Tony drew first blood today. Robert & Ken were with me setting the final touches on blinds. tomarrow starts the hunt. we're seeing a few now, and should get one or 2 tomarrow. randy had truck trouble and will be in tomarrow evening. he can have the leftovers if we don't shoot them all. lol
stevebeilgard
today i got lucky and shot a doe antelope. she was 25 yards and i hit her a little back. when she took off she ran into a fence post and broke it off. guess fence posts are good for something right Tim.. so now im off too try and get my buck antelope. i helped prep blinds for Ken and Robert. they will have good chances at tomorrow. stevebeilgard
well, here's the early report. randy & randy may not have left yet as i haven't gotten an email from darla yet. ken had two beauties come about 3 hours apart, but never got a shot. one of them looks like jjl's bucks brother. just as nice and on the same waterhole. the does came in early to water but ken didn't buy a doe license. robert had a nice p&y buck taking a final look at his waterhole before venturing down. all of a sudden, he shot a doe i never saw. anyway, the buck didn't like the activity and went away. so, one doe down for robert. it's 5 pm and no report yet from tony. he had lots of does and small bucks when i was watchin him but no mr. big. we'll try to report after dinner. we'll also get some group pics when the randy's get here. randyoitker1
Bad News and Good news! I won't be able to make it to Steve's this week. I have explained it all to Steve and Ken. I have to be in Collbran ,CO. on Sept. 4 and start mule deer and elk hunting on Sept. 5. I will leave CO. and be at Steve's late on Sept.10th. I will then be able to hunt at Steve's for a few days. I want to apologize to all who are at Steve's now. I tried to be there on Sept.1 but between having calves on the farm and brake issues and wrong parts from Autozone, I had to change my schedule. I want to wish everyone there luck and I hope that everyone goes home with some antelope meat.

Dakota
Hey Steve! What are you guys doing about the meat? Are you guys taking it to get cut and wrapped or are you all doing it yourself? I was thinking of saving some money and quartering and bagging it up and putting it in a cooler on ice and butcher it when I get home. That's usually what we do when we go rifle antelope hunting here in SD. Your thought? Dakota
