m gardner
Read the Bible. One place is in Acts 10:11-15. All these gifts of wild food should be received with prayer and thanksgiving. I guess we live so far from the land now it's a foreign idea to most. It was meant to provide for us in one way or another. Gifts from God. Read. buckee
I hunt, because I take much, much pleasure out of being in the woods, soaking in all the sites and sounds of nature, and also being blessed with the God given ability to find and harvest my own meat, rather than rely on a hired assassin in a slaughter house to do it for me. Mark hi there... firstly i would like to thank you for sharing your opinion..hunting was acceptable when Bible was written as in the primitive era it was need for survival.. human had to rely on it for his fooding needs.. but it is more of a pleasure and not need today..Is it fair to kill animals just for fun....?? birdhunter39
i give thanks to all of gods creatures when i kill them , i only hunt animals and fish that I'm going to eat . it's not always about the kill of the game that we hunt , it's about the memories and friends that we meet or make , about the misses , or just hearing and seeing animals in their natural habitat , or if a person just hates what we do think about this , lettuce is a living and growing plant that people snip a few leaves off or cut the whole head off just to let it re-grow and do it again . isn't that kinda barbaric
coles
IMO killing the animal isnt the fun part. i dont get enjoyment from taking a beautiful animals life. In fact i feel a little bit or sorrow as i walk up and admire the animal. But the fun part for me is the hunt itself. Being out there in gods creation, matching my wits with the animals step for step. But god gave us the permission to hunt. You might even say he ordered us to hunt. Look at Genesis 27:3 "Now therefore, please take your weapons, your quiver and bow, and go out to the field and hunt game for me." Thats why i hunt. Cuz we need to control animal populations, we need to be conservationists and preserve what God put here for us to use. I hunt because its part of my heritage and a lifestyle for me. I hunt because its my life and my obsession!

I hate to burst your bubble but we are the same beings now that we were when the earth was created and the Bible was written. All of us are sinners and need salvation through Christ. We really haven't evolved or we'd be much nicer by now. The Bible is the owner's manual for humankind and is just as relavent now as then. If you prefer to have a different food source or have someone else slaughter and prepare your food for you please do. But I hunt and gather and have spent long periods of time living in the woods. I enjoy the hunt. I enjoy the kill. I enjoy the preparation of the animal for food. I enjoy the cooking and sharing of the meal. Just as God intended. And I am grateful. I've been known to pick up road kill too. Mark P.S. You will realize if you read the Bible that you don't want to argue with us but with God. Like Peter did in the verse I gave you. Conversation with Him is a good start to understanding Him. Read His book too. Edited June 17, 2009 by m gardner
Dawg
For me i think i believe it is not fair but still i do i don't know why??? Is it fair to kill animals just for fun....?? You answered your own question here. To me, it's not about the kill. I love wild game meat but I hunt to partake in something that God created for us to enjoy. Read the first part of Genesis, God gave Adam dominion over all living creatures. I believe that has been passed down to us as well.

It was just that I wanted to know what is the one thing that intuits you to go for hunting.. I have strong against opinions for hunting but I no where disrespect your arguments in its favours. I'm here not to argue but to discuss what makes you do what you are actually doing...If its passion or love for you, it could be a sin from someone else's point if view. I love reading posts of all of you who have posted their motivations to hunt... thanks all...
jared264mag
I hunt because I love it, I love it because it is just a whole new way to experiance what God has given to all of us to enjoy. I don't see that there is anything wrong with enjoying something so beautiful as nature and the outdoors. There is no better feeling than sittin in a deer stand or a tree stand and watching the sun come rise. If that dont make you feel close to God what will. birdhunter39
my father hunted during the great depression to feed his family . when i started hunting my father told me this , hunt for food . not just to go out and kill just for the fun of it .and give thanks for your bounty , life is just that life , no matter what it is . i never did high fives or nothing like that , my father told me that if i did that he would hit me in the face with the stock of my gun , he told me that it was a sign of disrespect to the animal . I hunt in memory of my father .
