VickiC
Hey everyone! It's been a while since I visited here on Realtree and I just wanted to check in and see how everyone is doing! How has your spring been? Did you do any bear hunting? Ralph and I took a couple nice bears up in BC , and then spent two weeks in Alberta and didn't get a thing . I guess that's why it is called hunting!! I think I would call those two weeks, 'sitting' though! OK, Let's here from you!! Vicki C
PotashRLS
Nice to here from you Vicki........... I will be hunting Black Bear in Wisconsin starting this September. My last bear I killed was in 2003. It takes anywhere from 5 to 9 or 10 years for a resident to draw a kill tag depending on the area you apply for. I am looking forward to swatting mosquitos:rolleyes:
wtnhunt
Welcome back Vicki. Spring turkey here was pretty lousy. Went to the nwtf convention in Nashville a few months back, any chance you and Ralph may make those shows in the future? Have worked on food plots some. Trying to get everything in order for this upcoming fall. Little over 3 months to our archery opener here.
VickiC
We are talking about going to the NWTF next year and I know we are going to be at the Eastern PA show next year too!! We ended up cancelling our turkey hnts due to production here, and one of our bear hunts got cancelled because of ice on the lakes!! We leave on the 24th for Florida though for hogs & gators!!!! I cannot wait!!

JimT
Too funny. I picked up Bearin Down 7 yesturday at Cabelas and watched it last night. My girlfriend is going to bear hunt this fall for the first time. She will be toteing a rifle more then likely, but it was good to see the lady {forget her name} take a bear with a 41 pound bow. Thats the poundage of my girlfriends bow. We are very much looking forward to it. I have had a great spring. The fishing has been hot and I did get a turkey. I also picked up SWD4 for tonight. Do you guys think you will be coming up this way this year? I did not find out you were at Kittery Trading Post until after the fact... Rhino
Saw on your web site that you bagged some bears. Congrats! Had another great spring turkey season limiting out on my 3 bird bag limit. The only negatives were when I took a youth hunter and some rookies. My youth hunter didn't have a shot opportunity and gobbling activity was poor during the 2 days he hunted with me. Had some hens inside the 5 yard line but the boys didn't seem to want to play. One of my rookie hunters missed after a 2 hour battle with an old bird. The other rookie had some close encounters but no legal birds stepped into range. Jakes aren't legal for adult hunters here. We had a great show with a strutting and drumming bird for about 20 minutes but he stayed just outside of range before he left. Good luck in Florida. Hope you bring home the bacon and some gator tail for the grill.
VickiC
Sounds like a pretty decent spring so far! Congrats to you all!! We can't wait to get down to Hoppy's for some hog & gator hunting! It is so much fun!! Maybe Ralph can take another ride behind the airboat!! Jorden
Good to hear from you Vicki, sounds like you guys had an exciting spring:). Ourselves here in Wisconsin, we had a good spring and summer is going well to. I managed to kill my first longbeard this spring. Needless to say I was pretty excited. We have also been getting some good bucks on the trail cams so we are getting pretty excited for fall. Glad everything is going well. Adjam5
Great too see ya in here Vicki:). Thanks for stopping by. Love ya shows and congrats on the bears:). In NYS if you are deer hunting...you are bear hunting. The seasons coincide. We have taken no bears yet, but the coming season looks promising. Found bear tracks, scat and we have a bunch of berry bushes that we are just waiting to blossom so we can set a trail cam by them. Looking forward to this coming season. Turkeygirl
Awesome to see you stopped in Vicki! Latest hunting I've done was turkey season back in May...took a nice gobbler with my Mossberg. I'm busy getting ready to start my summer job, being a camp nurse, but at least we teach archery which means I can get myself and my Hoyt all ready for the coming deer season! Usually throw in a couple 3D courses as well...I have to show up our health director from last year this summer...he'll have to work hard to beat me and my Hoyt:) Seen any promising bucks for your archery season? I'm sure you'll show up Ralph a thing or two;)
