redkneck
Are you wanting a covered feeder, or you going to broadcast it?

Buckhunter76
All get need is the barrels, lol, than we can put them together, I'm pumped on to see how many more deer we'll see, we don't really have any trouble seeing them, it's just that I hope the monsters come in to them. swohiodave
I hate to burst your bubble but the monsters will not come to them. at least not during daylight hours. I have one i put up on a small property that is only 12 acres and it only brought does and button bucks during the day light hours. you have to find the big bucks, they will not find you. buckee
Homemade Gravity Fed, Deer Feeders: Here's the 2 feeders I made last winter for our neighbourhood deer. They loved them. The one on the left is a double barreled feeder, and the one on the right of course is single. The single Barrel is built like this, and the double is pretty self explanatory, once you check out the picture good.
BearClaw
How much corn does that hold! How oftern do you have to replace the corn?
HUNTINGMAN
I have three of those gravity feeders made just like those, have not used them in about ten years but when we used them the worked very well and are cheep to make also.I think I may go and fill them up this season to see what will happen.I always took one of those salt blocks about the size of a brick and threw it under the feeder to give it that extra bit of goodness. buckee
How much corn does that hold! How often do you have to replace the corn? I can't say exactly how much it holds. The double barrel holds twice as much..LOL. I guess it depends on how many deer you have feeding at it, as to how long it will last. I think mine went for a week or so before filling again. But I had the 2 going all winter.

PineyBrake
I use trough style, electric spinning feeders like moultrie, and just piles of corn. I have seen, videoed, killed, gotten game cam pics of bucks from the 140's down to button bucks. I have too many pics from game cams and video and actually shooting deer to agree that big bucks dont come to feeders. I like them for how they keep the doe around all morning and evening as my buck bait!!!! Maybe in other states it is different but in Arkansas the deer go to where the food is. I like the moultrie feeders the best but have some from wildgame innovations and remmington feeders. I have gotten so bad if my feeder doesnt go off, i lose confidence. During the christmas rifle hunt I saw 16 deer and killed 2 and have video of deer and gobblers feeding under a feeder with 2 dead doe laying dead 10 yards away. the power of corn and a feeder late season will have every deer in the woods fighting over corn. At one of my hunting clubs there isnt a lot of natural food because its in the mountains and the guys who dont have feeders spinning dont see deer and the ones who have working feeders do on the same mornings or evening hunts. I do hunt some properties where corn isnt as big as of attractant but in some areas you can just put out a feeder and deer will change their patterns to use the feeders daily. buckee
I've got some nice bucks coming to my feeders in the dark hours right now. Most of them still have their headgear too, and it's Feb 19th
Ethan Givan
Honestly I have not had much luck bringing big bucks into bait during daylight hours. I kept a camera on our corn all the time so I know this for a fact. There is only two exceptions. One is late summer when they are still in velvet and in bachelor groups. Sometimes they will come in right before dark. The second exception is during the rut, bucks I have never seen before suddenly appear at odd times during the day at our corn for a day or two then disappear again. I wouldnt put much faith in bait giving you chances at monster bucks. Like others said you gotta go find them. If you just want to put meat in the freezer it works like a charm. Ravin R10 man
Buckee..those work fine if you do not have bears...otherwise you spend more time putting them back up, or they get torn apart

redkneck
Thats one awesome buck. Got that right! Super pics there bud! I got a really dumb question for you guys. How in the heck do you fill those tripod feeders up? I know that's dumb cuz I see these type feeders EVERYWHERE, but I dont use feeders, I just throw out some corn a few times a year on the ground to get some TC pics. Pike
Thanks guys!! Here is another pic. of him. redkneck, I just back my Atv. up to them, it fits right between the feeders legs.
