BearClaw
I'm new at arrow fletching and I have a question. After I strip the old plastic vane off the arrow do I need to use some of solvent to clean the arrow before I re-fletch it? It's a carbon arrow. preacherman
I personally use acetone to clean my shafts and then take and wipe them off good before re-applying my wrap and fletchings. Good luck!
Tom2008
You don't have to but if your having trouble removing glue and pieces of fletching than I would use rubbing alcohol on a cloth or paper towel. With Acetone or rubbing alcohol don't rub past where your fletchings and where the glue was. It'll remove any logos on your arrows if you rub it across that. Tominator
You're supposed to use denatured alcohol I believe, but regular rubbing alcohol has worked for me in the past.

jm23494
I use rubbing alcohol and never had a problem. I have also been using brush on super glue to apply the fletchings and have been having great results with it. It's all a matter of what works for you. LifeNRA
For fletching glue I just use the fletch stripping tool until its all gone and smooth. For wrap adhesive, I use a SOS pad and warm water, again until all smooth. I never used any chemical other than alcohol. But then I read somewhere that it can damage the resins holding the carbon together. So now its just what I mentioned above.
kidd
same as above
BowJoe
I use 100% pure acetone. Then after I clean it, I replace it with a F.O.B.! LMBO! I used to waste my time fletching too but I've since moved on. :clown:
