NiteRunner
I posted a week or so ago about a Turkey Choke for my Gun (20 Gauge). Gander mountain has H.S. Strut Turkey Chokes for a 20 gauge for $11.99. What do you guys think about H.S. Strut turkey chokes? Thanks, Laura
Strut10
Re: H.S. Strut Turkey Chokes In developing a combo for my wife's 870 12 ga., I tested the H.S. Undertaker tube. It was somewhat better in patterning than either Remington factory tube (turkey extra-full and turkey super-full). But it was nowhere close to the performance of the Comp-N-Choke XXX-Full tube. lil hunter
Re: H.S. Strut Turkey Chokes Strut, it's also nowhere near as expensive. I shoot an H.S. with my 835. Pattern is pretty good for the $25 i spent on it.I don't really have much to compare it to though
Strut10
Re: H.S. Strut Turkey Chokes [ QUOTE ] Strut, it's also nowhere near as expensive. [/ QUOTE ] You're right, Lil. The C-N-C tube will run about $45. I guess it's the individual's choice as to how much they're willing to spend to maximize the effectiveness of their gun. I figure if I'm gonna put $400 - $1000 in a gun to shoot turkeys, I'm not gonna cut a $30 corner on the choke tube. Just my humble $.
borch
Re: H.S. Strut Turkey Chokes It all depends on what your gun likes. I have one for one of my Win 1300s. I shoots an excellent pattern with a heavy(2 oz) load of #6 shot. It won't shoot anything else though. That said I'm planning on a Comp n Choke for my next gun.
