J.B.

I have one more question for you.

I was thinking about possibly switching back to aluminum arrows (because of the whole exploding carbon deal).....so I was wondering if you or anybody else had any recommendations of the Easton Aluminums and what size to get?

Sorry about all of the questions.....I really appreciate your help!

Re: Question about Arrows??

Not to be rude or anything, but take that chart and flush it right you know where.....I went by that darn thing to and couldn't shoot over 30yrds. without fishtailing all the way to the darn target....Made a few shaft tweaks that J.B. suggested and now I'm good up to 45yrds, with out the slightest wobble..... smile.gif

Re: Question about Arrows??

I know exactly what you are going through..I'm fairly new to the archery scene also and there are so many chioce out there you haven't a clue were to start....and alot of them seem to be mathmatical...Hey J.B. whats up with all of the math in archery anyways??? LOL.. Bearbucks just do what I did ask alot of questions and filter through what works for you and go for it. There's one thing that I have learned well and that is there is no such thing as asking too many questions, and there's no such thing as a dumb question.....wish ya all the best and will be looking for those Pics. of all the game you get. smile.gifsmile.gif

The way carbon arrows are produced now is light years ahead of when they first came out. The had problems with them exploding when they first came out but those problems have been cured.

Most carbons are wrapped several different ways to add strength and layers to them.

Carbons are lighter, faster and much more durable than aluminum arrows. They don't bend. either htey're straight or broke.

Don't let the old "exploding carbons" stories worry you. It's simply not true anymore. wink.gif

Re: Question about Arrows??

I just wanted to tell all of you thanks for the help....I will definately be getting the Gold Tip 7595's. I have really learned alot after just this one post. But i'm going to have to disagree with the fact that some of you might think the exploding carbon deal is over. There are many ways that you can still get cracks in your arrow and if you shoot them they have a chance of exploding.

I made a post about 2-3 weeks ago about how my uncle had a Gold Tip arrow explode on him....he had to be rushed to the hospital....the arrow was lodged an inch into his wrist.....he doesnt know how it happened.....and it maybe could have been prevented if he would have checked his arrows before shooting. So I know that it is not likely for this to happen if you are careful and check your arrows.....but i think that it is still very possible considering it just happened to my uncle

*recently(a couple days ago) a found a crack in the middle of my carbon express arrow...i have know idea how it got there but i broke it in half and through it away.

I'm trying to start an argument with you guys.....because i know you all have more experiece than me.....but I just wanted to give you my opinion.

Re: Question about Arrows??

Arrow manufacterers charts seem to lean more toward being over spined for safeties sake. I have seen this many times.

I think its to try and prevent users from using underspined arrows on some set ups when there set up is on the line between 2 different sized/spined arrows. (Not sure but seems logically.)

5575's will work well on your bow if the bow is tuned well. 7595 are too over spined but thats JMO... An arrow does need some flex to shoot like its suppose to. Fact.

I know JB well threw this forum and he would not stear you wrong or give dangerous info.

However you could use either the 5575 or 7595s on your set up.

Every bow is different and every shooter is too. Use what works. The charts will get ya very close. Some may need more or less but it will not be dangerous for you .

Again, JMO

Re: Question about Arrows??

For what it's worth:

I tried the 7595s on my Outback.

That was a 63lb/28,5" with a 410gr arrow. The spine was too much for it. I could not tune the bow. I kept getting lowleft groups no matter what adjustments I tried.

Swithced to the 5575 and had my bow shooting 2" groups out to 40yds where ever I point it. The weaker spined cured my problems.

However, I guess it is better to be a tad overspined than under.

Re: Question about Arrows??

Well i'll just have to go with one and if it doesnt work out hopefully they'll let me return them and get the other......Thanks once again for your help.

What does JMO mean?? I'm not very good with all of this slang terminalogy.
