The_Kat
Anyone else see the interview where he was talking about "we" should be pretty good this season. We being the vikings that were being discussed in a sports interview.
Tominator
Heard on the radio that a Vikings trainer flew to Mississippi the other day to evaluate the shoulder. As the world turns.....

Tominator
Sure would love to hear the reaction of the crowd if Brent suited up in a Vikes uni and ran out onto Lambeau.

PotashRLS
Sure would love to hear the reaction of the crowd if Brent suited up in a Vikes uni and ran out onto Lambeau. It is a sad, sad situation. I would never have thought it in a million years. Brett is losing ground in Green Bay fast! It is a shame. He used to be the exception, now he is the rule:poke:

camoman1
Id like to see him come back. I like to watch him play, he still pulls of some great plays even though hes getting old. I dont agree with the way he or the Pack handled this whole situation, I think its a shame that its turning out this way.....but it would be interesting to see the look on Thompsons face if Brett would come into Lambeau and pick apart the Packs pitiful defense.....personally I think Brett could have a pretty good year in MN. Solid O line, great running back, decent recievers. The Pack is still #1 on my list, but im just sayin.......
RUTNSTRUT
Brett just cannot keep his face out of the camera. I hope he signs and gets smoked all season. Really you wish bodily harm on another person, you are a sad individual. The way Green Bay and mostly TT hosed Brett he is entitled to this. I am a Packer fan,but I love to watch Brett play and really believe he would make the Vikes a much better team.

I'm right there with ya! I don't agree with the way Brett's gone about things. I do think he is a great QB. It's easy to say that he'd get booed when he returns to Green Bay but I would like to think that the Packer fans have a little more class than that. I still wear my #4 Favre jersey on game day!! Jorden
I would like to think that the Packer fans have a little more class than that. Most dont, how quick they are to throw someone under the bus...funny, you didnt hear anyone complaining two years ago when they went 13-3, made it to the NFC championship game and when everyone wanted Brett to come back the next year. How quickly everyone forgets:cool:. I do agree that Brett has not gone about this in the best way:oops: but that is how he has chosen to conduct himself and if this is what he wants, so be it. I still wear my #4 Favre jersey on game day!! As do I...I grew up with Brett and he will always be my favorite
Chrud
I don't have a problem with Brent wanting to come back and play. I do have a problem with why he wants to come back and play. No one player will ever be bigger than the Packers, and this clown thinks he is. The only reason Brent wants to play for Minnesota is so he is guaranteed two chances to try to stick it to the Packers management. Brent didn't get the coach he wanted when they hired McCarthy. And why should the team undo five months of work because this clown decides he wants to play again. GB welcomed him back, but he did not want to be the back up QB. And based on last year's individual performance, A-Rod is definitely the best fit for GB at QB (just hope the D can turn it around in '09). And Muggs, I apologize. I can't believe I'm going to say it, but you were 100% right about Brent Favruh.
camoman1
I dont blame him for having some sore feelings toward the management of GB. Where else have you heard of a QB taking a team to the conference championship game, and then told he will be the backup QB if he comes back next year...???? They were gonna pay him to NOT come back to the team!! That doesnt seem like a welcome mat to me..... I understand the reasons that Brett and the GB organization acted as they did. GB needed to get Rodgers playing, and Brett, Im assuming, took it kinda personal that he kinda got kicked to the curb. No one complained when Sharper and Longwell went purple simply because they were greedy and wanted more money. And I do believe that Longwell is GB's all time scoring leader...how dare he go to the Vikings!:jaw:

You forgot the part where that QB retired and then decided to play 5 months later, after the team had already made changes for the future. No one complained when Sharper and Longwell went purple simply because they were greedy and wanted more money. And I do believe that Longwell is GB's all time scoring leader...how dare he go to the Vikings! They didn't go there after two retirements and to stick it to Green Bay. There were in the prime of their careers and were free agents that were not signed by GB.

muggs
thanks, chrud. You can't blame the Packer's front office for this at all. There is no way you can function in the highly competitive and highly regulated (salary cap etc...) NFL when you have no clue who is going to be holding down the most important position on the field. Also, like Chrud said, as an organization you cannot allow any one player to be bigger than the organization itself. Not only does that send the wrong message to everyone involved, it breaks down the the fundamental elements of what makes a successful team. They gave him more than enough time and opportunity to make up his mind. The only reason they used a first rounder on Rodgers was due to the fact they thought he would be done after one more season. If they would have known he would have wanted to play for another 4-5 years they could have used that pick on another position and improved the roster. Bottomline, Favre put them in a position in which they were forced to put their foot down, and rightly so. I give Thompson a TON of credit. He had to know that the Favre minions (like the dudes with shrines in their home **cough** Finn **cough**) would lash out and blame him- but he made the tough call and did what was right for the team (and, ironically enough what was right for the same people who rip him:hammer1:). Basically what I'm saying to those Cheesheads still backing this guy is- WAKE UP! Your hero has betrayed you and could care less about you as long as he's pampered and receives special treatment. And, dude cries more than my wife anyway...weak. I hope my boy AJ Hawk comes up the middle and careers him, nothing too serious, just enough to keep him away from the game on off my TV screen. camoman1
I guess I just dont see why this is a big deal....? Bear with me here, if Favre would have a been a free agent after the 2007 season and not resigned, then went to the Vikings, Bears or Lions, that would have been ok with everyone?? Some how I think we would be having this same discussion. If this was any other player in the whole NFL, with the exception of Brady or Peyton Manning...nobody would even think twice about it. Again, I dont care for the way he has gone about retiring and coming back and all that. But it doesnt bother me that he will/may be playing for the Vikes either....I think it makes for great football to watch

The guy waffled forever, would not tell them his plans (lack of respect) then comes flying into town on his jet expecting people to welcome him with open arms. Then, when the crybaby doesn't get his way, his plan is to then join the biggest rival of the fans who love him to stick it to them. Teams need the off season to sign free agents, scout talent, draft, and resign players. They do that based on their current roster. When you don't know if your HOF QB is playing or not and he refuses to tell you because he's busy zipping up his Wranglers and catching bass or playing grab arsh in some commerial...you have to move on. If it walks like a jerk, smells like a jerk...it IS a jerk. Edited June 25, 2009 by muggs

gzilla45
I'm going to the Vikings/Packers game at Lambeau this year. I sure hope Brett does play for them so our DB's can get about 5 pick 6's off of him. I wouldn't mind Bj Raji laying the smack down on him either. I plan on booing him when he runs out of the tunnel.
