Tell me about Xbox 360

You just need to know if you want a memory hard drive or not. Without memory it will cost about $200, with about $300. The rest is just packaging. The biggest thing you need to think about is whether or not you are going onto xbox live to play multiplayer. If you are going to do that or play campaign games that require memory to save.

I play mine a lot too while I'm on the road and the best advice I can give is get at least a 20 Gb hard drive for it along with a cooler fan that attaches in the back. The fan is $20 and the hard drive or "hd" is $100. The cool thing, if you have an HD tv then the Xbox 360 will play games in HD quality as long as you have an HD cable which is around $30. Really blows away the graphics on regular setups. I have the new UFC game and it's really something I think you and your son will love. Very realistic fighting. You can turn the blood and cuts off an on. I know it's a lot of buying but I wouldn't mention them if it wasn't worth the extra money. The reason I say buy the hard drive, is you use up a lot of memory fast with what they provide as a little memory stick plug in. Especially if you rent or plan on renting games. Hope I helped.

The xBox 360 Pro is most likely the console you want. I have the elite and it comes with a headset (not sure if the pro does or not) that is used for online play, 2 games, a 120 gb HD, hdmi cable and is all black. I didn't need the elite because the Pro would have worked but I felt like paying the extra $100 for the games and HDMi cable. You will need an extra controller because it only comes with one.

I own one, and love it... Only downside with the Xbox is if you want to play online, you have to pay for it, whereas PS3 its free... But I have had my Xbox 360 for a couple years now, and have no regrets... However, I do want you to be aware of this... DO NOT buy the cooler fan that attaches to the back... If the cooler fan, causes the Xbox to overheat and ruin it (It somehow melts the solder on the inside)(which it is know to do) Xbox will NOT cover it under its warranty, so you will be out $300+... So my only real advice is not to buy the cooler fan... Good luck and ENJOY!

I have the cooler fan. Was told to get it so it would not melt down??? Paying for X-Box live is stupid. I was going to get it but am not willing to pay for it. My X-Box 360 is set up for full hd. The difference is night and day!!! Just got COD5 World at War. Awesome game. Next will be UFC then COD6. COD6 looks insane.

I would personally take it off of the DVD player... Because when your DVD player is in use, all the heat that is exscaping from the top of it is going directly into the Xbox... it may not be a huge issue seeing as both devices probably wont be on at the same time, but it's something i learned the hard way... i had my xbox on top of my direct tv reciever and i toasted my xbox 10 days after i got it...

DO NOT MIX GAME CONSOLES, SATELLITE RECEIVERS and DVD PLAYERS TOGETHER!!! I was told by a very wise person that the new setups may mess up your other systems and to keep them apart from each other. Something about the new Blu-ray or something like that scrambling the other receptors or something. Just food for thought. Might not be true at all but I'd still be cautious just in case. I'd just place them a few feet apart if possible.

Ive owned my xbox for 4 years and never had a cooler fan, I agree that if you have it in the open it will get enough air to cool itself. A lot of friends of mine have the fan and they all have gotten the "Red Ring of Death". Just make sure that it in the open.

If you are going to get an xbox 360 the best choice would be the elite. From experience i had 2 of the regular white xbox 360s break because they are not made near as well as the elite. I was so mad that i just went out and got a ps3. IF YOU ARE GOING TO GET ONE GET THE XBOX 360 ELITE!!
