Whale Wars

Have anyone of you watched the show whale wars? I started watching an episode as I thought the Captain Paul Watson of the Sea Shepard was targeting illegal whaling operations, but come to find out, this idiot is going into international waters, trying to ram ships, and throwing flash bang grenades at ships from other countries to prevent legal whaling. Now the animal planet is doing a show making him out to be some sort of hero, when he is nothing but a pirate causing problems to people from around the world engaged in legal activities. Maybe I am way off the mark here, but if this guy was going after hunters hunting land loving mammals, we'd be ticked. The worst thing about this he has been doing it for 30 years....

When I saw the commercials for the show, I couldnt figure out what exactly he was doing....If he is harassing legal hunters, than for sure I will NOT be watching/supporting that show!! He has every right to whatever beliefs he/they have...but if hes doing all that crap against legal hunters thats too much.

Ken, I saw what he was doing right from the beginning and I refused to watch. Unfortunately the KGB (Kinder Gentler Better) Generation and the Obama voters are in charge of this world now and this is sort of thing is cool:angry: I have written Animal Planet and told them of my disgust for the show. Of course they didn't have the cahonies to reply.

I have always thought hunting whales was lame. Not really a need for it anymore. We all hunt to keep populations in check. Nothing more. However, if this joker is breaking the law he should be thrown in the hole for it. Sounds to me like people are looking the other way for sure.

i watched one episode and all i did was laugh the whole time simply because these people are idiots!!!!! I just cant believe how they operate. I mean with the grenades, jumping onto the "enemy" ships and such. They even pulled a move which one of the nerdy deck hands said was a move that some ship did in star wars lol. Dont get me wrong the star wars movies are pretty good but they hid from the enemy behind a huge iceberg just so they wouldnt be seen! lol

Here is what I just emailed the Discovery Channel

I am appalled at the fact that the Discovery Channel would knowingly air a program like Whale Wars. Captain Watson of the Sea Shepard is more than likely coommitting crimes in what he does to prevent legal whaling operations. The man throws acid filled bottles on board foreign ships, tries to ram them and throws flash bang grenades to interfere with what is a legal activity. By airing this poor excuse for a Captain, you are creating a fan base for illegal activity against those engaged in legal fishing. There is ways that Captain watson could legally fight whaling through the government. Not risking life and limb of those working in a legal industry. The Discovery Channel is getting a bad name for airing this program, no matter what your ratings may show. Whoever is in charge of determining what shows should be filmed and aired, should be fired. Captain Watson is basically no better than a Somalia pirate, and until this show is removed from the air, I will refuse to watch or purchase anything in regards to the Discovery Channel/ Animal Planet.

Poor choice of programming on your part

Swamphunter has the perfect idea. I emailed Discovery also and I have yet to get a response from them. I love deadliest catch and other shows but I will give them up if it they allow them to air this show.

I won't really give them up... my son loves Deadliest Catch and so do I. Can you imagine if Captain Stupid was ramming the Time Bandit with the Hillstrand boys at the helm!!! :gun1:

LOL! That would be funny. They would probably jump ship and put crab in their jocky shorts. :chair:

I too love Deadliest Catch. My wife and I were LOAO when the Hillstrands were doing their happy dance at the helm after pulling down a 700 average. :clown:

I can hardly stomach the commercials for the show let alone watch it!

The poor captain that looks like he's about to cry. The tree hugger that is crying. Hey...if you want sympathy from law abiding citizens then first try not to be criminals.

The Discovery channel has forgotten the kind of programming that made them popular....I forget to stop there while channel flipping.

I loved it when the French Navy destroyer rammed and sank a Greens Peace ship off new Zelands.

Some day these idiots will try that stunt with a Chinese Fisherman or a Turk or a Vietnamnese Fishing Ship who will rake & spray the decks witha M-2 .50 caliber machine gun.

As far as I am concerned, Captain jerkhole attempting to ram another ship is deadly physical force.....

if I was the Captain of a whaling ship that was armed.. :gun1:

Here what he is saying about his critics of his tactics.. sounds like the ramblings of an insecure whiney madman making sloppy excuses about he can safely command a non ice rated vessel into, and back out of ice. To me, it sounds reckless.... wonder when the US will deal with him before he creates an international incident.

i'll stand and applaud the whaling ships the day they open fire and kill all the attackers. while i deplore whaling, it's legal and those ships are under attack by the pirates. shoot them all and don't pick up the survivors.

Well said Steve.... this is the EXACT SAME THING as hunter harassment, but on an even bigger scale! This man is risking life and limb of not only the idiots that choose to harass the whalers with him, but the whalers lives themselves are at risk. Could you imagine if this caused an international incident and then the U.S. started having problems with Japan, and the other countries engaged in lawful whaling? All because this man chooses to break the law himself and is nothing more than a common criminal. Time for the U.S. to deal with him ourselves....
