rough time for our 3 year old-about to head to the hospital

Took our 3 year old daughter Allison in to our regular family doctor June the 8th, wife was concerned she might have had tonsillitis. Doctor tested her for strep and said she had strep and put her on amoxil, he was not concerned about her swollen tonsils. She had been in May 11th he said she had the flu and also had bronchitis, treated that with azithromycin.

To make this as short as possible because I am in a bit of a hurry, she woke us up this morning, high fever and complaining about her belly hurting. Not able to keep the fever down and Allison not drinking or eating anything, the wife took her to a clinic early this afternoon since our physicians office is not open on the weekend and they immediately sent her over to the er. Turns out she has an abscess(peritonsillar abcess), and so now she has to have her tonsils removed. Just got off the phone with the wife, she said they are going to take her in to the OR just as soon as they can, not likely I can make it there before they take her back, but I am about to walk out the door with our other 2 daughters to head to the hospital, which is about 45 minutes to an hour away depending on traffic. Could use some prayers for her.

Thank you all for the prayers.

We sure were not expecting this, she seemed to be getting better up until yesterday when she started running a fever late in the afternoon, really hit her hard this morning. We did manage to get to the hospital just in time to see here before she went in. Got there about 5 minutes before they got ready to take her back.

The doctor did not want to wait for morning for surgery, was a bit concerned about the abscess causing her difficulty breathing. Everything went fine with the surgery, they did remove her adenoids and tonsils and took care of the abscess. He said her adenoids were very badly swollen and the abscess was also pretty bad, he told my wife how much fluid they drained out of the abcess and I guess it was pretty bad, she thought it was a lot anyway.

My older 2 daughters and I just got home about 45 minutes ago, we had to make a stop at the grocery store on the way home for soft foods. They are keeping Allison overnight, Catrina is staying with her at the hospital and she should get to bring her home tomorrow late morning to early afternoon.
