jared264mag
Which is a better twist rate 1:10 or 1:11 ??? thanks........... It really depends on the grain bullet you want to shoot. Most everything I got has a 1:10. But I ain't no expert so someone else may know I don't have a .300 Win. But for the most part is what suits your bullets best. m gardner
The faster you shoot a bullet the less spin you need. So the 300 mag should be okay with a 1:12 twist. The less steep the twist is makes it easier to drive the bullets down the barrel so you can use more powder and get more velocity. A 1:10 is standard from most manufacturers though. Strut10
In all honesty, I can't see where there'd be any noticeable difference between a 10 twist and an 11 twist in a sporter. Theoretically the 10 twist would be slightly better suited to stabilize heavy-fo-caliber bullets.
m gardner
I know Lazzeroni uses a 1:12 rate of twist in his 30 caliber rifles and they will stabilize a 220 grain Nosler Partition. Mark
doubleA
Choosing a twist rate is highly dependent on the style and weight of the bullet you intend to use. With factory tubes you are going to be limited while with an aftermarket barrel the choices of twist are much greater. More info is needed rather than saying which is better "y" or "z".
