ruttinbuc
Nothing is more aggravating than having fairly expensive equipment break on you. I was up fishing on the reservoir today and didn't even get the lines out when my trolling motor's auto pilot went out. Doesn't steer in manual either....Guess I'll be packing it up and sending it in for repair....Just passed it's first birthday...:bummed:
Randy
Did you check the foot control? Sometimes they get sand in them and act goofy. Otherwise its an easy fix at a minnkota service shop. It's more than likely they just have to replace the "board" in the top part of the motor and the recalibrate it. Been there,.....done that..... ; )
ruttinbuc
Yes, I did check the foot control, Randy. The compass was acting squirrely as of it couldn't set on a position. I had to keep correcting. She seemed to straighten up some, but then quit altogether. I got a little response from the head but only a little in one direction. The tech at Minn Kota tends to think that it is a board or loose connection issue.
Shaun_300
That sucks bud! I hate when new stuff breaks like that. I have a Minn Kota transom mount trolling motor, just the little 30lb thrust one. It's been great and never had a problem with it! I've probably had it for 7 years now. ruttinbuc
I never had a problem with any transom mount motors I owned. I got the system I have now so I can troll on big water where only electric is allowed. I have a tendency to think that Minn Kota knows of the issues. Hope they can make it right.
