Missed160
To me a drake canvas back looks like "Old Time Duck Hunting" - But I really LOVE the looks of a drake Widgeon.

buckee
There are so many beautiful ducks and shorebirds in this world, and in North America, that it's hard to chose. I've always loved the wood duck, maybe because I used to hunt them so much as a kid. But they have always stunned me with their beauty. I've painted them and carved them But when I moved to the west coast here, where their are few wood ducks, I did find one they reminded me of old woody, as far as beauty goes, and that's the Harlequin duck. This is out of one of my paintings But here's some way better pictures
camoman1
Them Harleys sure are cool looking ducks!! Ive always wanted to see some of them.
fly
The Mandarin is pretty neat looking, but the Wood Duck is my favorite.
redkneck
Woodies take it by a mile! And.... It's not just the beauty of the bird, its the way they live. Not to sound goofy, but they are just a thrill to see. Not loafing around like canada geese. You can see them touch down in the smallest sloughs in the evening while your hunting. When your duck hunting, they come in like a rocket, making you work for every one you kill. I love woodies, and great on the grill too!
