With all the threats that N. Korea has made in the last few weeks what do you think is going to happen?? I have just found out that N.Korea stated that they were going to nuke Hawaii on the 4th of July and now today they threatened that if we intercept there ship that they will wipe us off the face of the planet. These are blatant threats. The Hawaii one is the scariest of them all. They have said that they are going to do it and what has the government done. Havent we as a country taken enough of this man threatening us??

What are you thoughts on it???

I don't know but being here in Okinawa doesn't give me a good warm and fuzzy seeing how we are only about 800nm from them, lol. I was just in S. Korea a couple months ago. I was in Gunsan for about a month. We took a day trip up to Soul as well and did some good shopping up there.

As far as N. Korea, whatever...I get paid either way from Uncle Sam:pullup:

Not a good situation at all, and I really have no confidence in Obama's ability to handle this situation, I sincerely hope and pray that he proves me to be wrong. We can all hope that Kim Jung Il is making idle threats, or that his missiles will fail. The mainstream media reported just last week that North Korea had made the statement that they would hit the US hard on or around the 4th of July, and that they would send hundreds of missiles.

If we had Bush or Reagan or even McCain in office right now I would feel a lot better. The thought of N Korea getting off a missile and us sitting on our thumbs waiting for them to launch multiple scares me. On or around July 4th with the comments/statements/threats that have been made we should be well prepared to remove North Korea from the face of the map granted they have one missle leave the ground.

Something to think about is how much is our Militiary streched right now? Do we have enough troops available to take own NK's million man army?

Hopefully these are just idle threats as before, but you never know. With the anniversary of the Korean War and Independence Day upon us, these could just be scare tactics.

I don't know what to expect out of Obama, like it was said in a previous post, I would feel a lot safer with either one of the Bush's, Reagan or even McCain in office right now.

Conventional ground warfare in the wake of a nuclear missile launch towards our soil would be a horrible mistake, even if we were not stretched so thin. In this type of situation I am a firm believer in being well prepared and being on the ready to go offensive. We know the threat is there, we should have a strategic defense system in place that should be well prepared to respond to anything happening and any intelligence(satellite, stealth spy drones, whatever other means) we can possibly gather that the potential is there should have us go on the offensive to remove those threats by whatever means necessary.

I hate to see any innocent people die, but when it comes down to it, better them than us. If they attempt to hit us with a nuke or nukes, they should be prepared to suffer mass casualty and total annihilation, as we should respond to any strike with a counter strike that will leave them with no opportunity to be in position for any further strikes ever. Surely with this threat we will have stealth bombers and ships in position for immediate close range strikes on the ready well in advance.

I would like to think that if any missles are launched with any intent to reach anywhere close to Hawaii that those launch sites would be squashed like a bug. I could also see a strike on there nuclear plant at Pyongyongyongyang.

I just hope that our President has the testicular fortitude to act.

Pretty words and speeches won't get any point across.

I think they are only making these threats to scare people and to make them look strong by standing up to the US. They have nothing to gain by launching a nuclear missile; it will make the world realize that now is the time to put an end to this country

We aren't dealing with a rational individual. Kim Jong Il is a nutcase, too. B.O. is apparently content to sit around with his thumb up his butt, occasionally issuing a harshly worded statement. This is viewed as weakness by Il (and Ahmadinejhad and Chavez and everybody else that hates us) and only adds momentum to his "thunder". IMHO, the little pi**ant needs squashed like the bug that he is. It could be quite handily done without an American soldier ever having to look at a N. Korean face. Additionally..........if B.O. had any grapes whatsoever, he'd send word to Il that we are going to board the ship and he's gonna like it........or else. We pansy around, following all the stupid U.N. this and U.N. that.........then when the U.N. resoultions are violated......nothing. Board the ship. If they resist, sink it. If Il tries somehting dumb, show him what for.

first, their missles don't work. second, we have a defense system. you know, the star wars thing that the libs laughed at in the '80's.

the world knows we have i spagetti spined nothing for a president, and they also know full well he'll do nothing if they do make an attempt to shoot at us. i think right now just about anyone can do anything they want to do against us, and get an attack of apologies.
