Tom2008
Awesome buck! Did you get him with your long bow? Got any field picture with him?
Jakapr
the bow Tom, I shot him with my 46" Rodney Wright Stalker recurve at 10 yds. I was using a 2020 with a Magnus 2 broadhead. the evening before I was using my 48" Elburg mite flatbow, same arrow broadhead combination. I was leaning forward for the shot and my bottom limb hit my wheelchair rim and the arrow took off. Once I blow a shot at a deer with a bow, that bow doesn't get to go hunting the rest of the season. this was right at sunset. he ran to the edge of the woods (about 40 yds) and stood like a statue staring at the blind for a few minutes then headed into the woods. A few minutes later I looked out the north window and he came out and stared at the blind for a few minutes then headed west. a few minutes later I could see Jon way across the field opening the gate to come and get me. While he was coming across the field here came some bucks. A 150 class 10 followed by a booner 10 followed by this buck. they stayed by the blind till Jon drove up. The arrow was laying right by the blind and had a hint of blood on it. The next day after Jon went down to get the buck, he came back up and said " I see where you hit the buck the night before. The broadhead skimmed his head and took a chunk out of the left antler at the base. I got the file out and resharpened the broadhead and killed him with it the next day. here is another picture I took a few days before. Yes, I passed him up that day and after everybody at work saying I was crazy to pass on a buck like this, peer pressure took over and I had to shoot him. he must of had a death pact because in 4 days I shot him 3 times, the first with the camera, the 2nd in the antlers and the third through the heart.
