tedicast
He's lucky. I've heard the little ones can have more venom than the adults. Personally, the venom wouldn't have hurt me as much as the heart attack would have. I'm with you on that one oldksnarc!!!!
sskybnd
so glad he's ok , the good lord was watching over him for sure, probably a once in a blue moon dry hit.
Straight Shooter
I am so glad to hear that he is okay, he could have had damaged tissue resulting in bad scaring for life or worse. This is a tid-bit I found on bites by rattlesnakes, he is very lucky to be in the 25% percentile. 25% of adult rattlesnake bites are dry, with no venom injected. redkneck
That's a neat stat. If i'm ever bitten by one, I dont think that will provide a lot of comfort though.
Straight Shooter
I agree with you but that will not help what I have in my draws. I don't think its a stat though to give anyone a semse of relief from being snake bit.

Shaun_300
Jeepers that must have scared the daylights out of the poor little lad. I hate those big poisonous snakes with a passion!!!
deerslayer2295
I am glad to hear that he is ok, I thought it was cool to read that your grandson's name is kaeden, my grandson's name is also caiden, just spelled a little differently. How old is your grandson? I bet that gave him a heck of a scare! Best wishes on a speedy recovery for him. Oh by the way, my grandson will be 6 in August. Adjam5
Wow Steve...a close call for sure. We try to protect our kids/grandkids as much as possible, but we cannot be everywhere. Glad he is OK and what a hard lesson learned.
stevebeilgard
kaeden is nine, and just finished his 4th trip to alaska. that kid just lives to hunt & fish. sure reminds me of another kid i used to know. he did learn a big lesson. we've told him for years not to walk in tall grass with shorts and no socks on. he never will again, i'll bet. his bite is healing nicely, and all is well. thanks for all the concern and prayers. ruttinbuc
Yes, the boy certainly was born with the love for the outdoors gene. Our trip to Wyoming and saw that first hand. Glad to hear he is doing well.
