Stone Cold
Hello All! For the past week I have been hearing a VERY LOUD frog out by my pool here in central Illinois. The frog only makes his noise from Dusk till I fall asleep. LOL I decided to take out the flashlight to look for the bugger. I was looking alone side of our 4 foot pool and no luck. While I was bent over checking some weeds I heard him again. It sounded like he was in the pool. Sure enough he was sitting on our filter system. The funny part is that if he is living in our pool the kids swam in it that day for three hours. I have never seen a frog like this in our yard. I am not sure what kind of frog this is due to him being all green and a white under belly. Can anyone help me identify this little noise maker? Even though he has been making a racket out there I still left him alone in our pool. He is about the size of a half dollar.

dogdoc
cute little thing. We had a bull frog get into our pool and that thing was hard to catch. I finally saw him sitting on the step one early morning so i grabbed my fishing rod with a plastic worm. Snuck out and cast that worm in front of him and he took it quickly. One quick hook set and he was mine. Loaded him up and took him to the local duck pond.

Tominator
Don't have a clue, but I did find this: http://www.inhs.uiuc.edu/animals_plants/herps/species/hy_cinerea.html Here's a neat list of all the amphibians in Illinois. Pretty cool. http://www.inhs.uiuc.edu/animals_plants/herps/ilspecies.html

He has been hanging in the tree in my back yard and has been going back and forth from the river to my pool. He is more than welcome to swim in my pool! Leo
Looks like a kind of barking tree frog to me. They make a single very loud "TWONK!". They are very similar to green tree frogs but bigger and louder.

Stone Cold
I think I agree with Leo! The family in the house next door even came out at night with flashlights trying to find him. I told them that he is in my pool and the next day here they are again with flashlights trying to find him. He was under the ladder on the edge of the pool and they even said "What a noise for a little frog like that!" This little bugger is loud!
