NS whitetail
Don't you just hate a race that ends because of rain. :hammer1: I just hate to hear the guy who is leading the race ( even though they don't deserve to be ) when the rain starts say "oh, I hope this rain keeps up" get real........... it's a race... pray that the rain will stop and get back out there and RACE for a win. GEZZZZZZZZZ :sleep1::sleep1::sleep1:
The_Kat
It sux, but still congrats to Lagano! However I don't think his win should count for the record books as the youngest driver to ever win a race....he didn't finish it.
JimT
Rain is getting very old here....
Chrud
I've prayed for rain at the race track before. However I don't think his win should count for the record books as the youngest driver to ever win a race....he didn't finish it. Unbelievable. jared264mag
It does suck but It happens sometimes and its all about making the right call when the time comes.
The_Kat
Unbelievable. I'm confused?
snapper
They sure were quick to call that race...what was it...like 5-6 mins. after they got outta the cars? Soon as they called the race...Joey and crew didn't have their unbrellas up any more. They had several hours of daylight left...why not wait it out a little bit to finish the last 28 laps? Guess they figured Toyota needed another win...sorta like the 00 car winning too!
JimT
I live about two hours from Louden and it rained all afternoon at my house. Probably did there also....??
backwoods07
In a post race interview Logano said it was unfortunate that he had to win that way, but he'll take anything he can get. In the record books, it doesn't matter how you won. I guess I agree. Sure, cancelling the race early does take something out of the win, but we're talking about millions of dollars here! These guys do this for a living, not because they simply enjoy racing. I'd take the win with a smile and not think twice about how unfortunate it was that I didn't race the last 20 laps. It could've been worse. Kyle Busch could've been leading the race when the red flag came out. :)

The_Kat
How is that ridiculous? He was not even in contention to win the race, he just stayed out when the lead cars pitted and it rained. That is called a fluke.
Chrud
How is that ridiculous? He was not even in contention to win the race, he just stayed out when the lead cars pitted and it rained. That is called a fluke. Weather is a part of racing. The 20 team gambled to put their driver in position to win the race as EVERYONE knew the rain was coming. Was Joey credited with 1st place when the race became official? We won our first Feature this year because of the time limit. There were quite a few cautions and the time limit was nearing an end. We got the lead and held it until the final caution for the win. No one called it a fluke, even though the race didn't run it's scheduled distance. I guarantee you that no one would be calling this a "fluke" if Earnhardt Jr would have won the rain-shortened race.
The_Kat
Oh yes they would, cause it would have been a fluke. Jr is terrible this year. I'm not saying he didn't win, and I am glad he got credit for his first win, but I personally wouldn't want my name in the books for winning a race I had no shot at winning any other way except for a rainout. If the kid was running up front all day I would feel different, but he wasn't. After his tire got cut he fell a lap down.

Chrud
:death::saber: :robot: :hammer1: :chair::stretcher: Agree to disagree? In all honesty, the guy I pit for is one of the best in the state of Wisconsin. And from first hand experience, we'll take a win any way we can get it. Time shortened, caution shortened, weather shortened, half the field wrecked or just complete domination...it doesn't matter. A win is a win. As long as I can put a check mark on the sheet next to "Go to Victory Lane and Smile", I'm happy.
The_Kat
Ya I agree with ya bud. I'm just looking at it from the record books aspect. It's kinda like the HR record in baseball and the guys who juiced when they acheived it....they still hit bombs, but their names don't belong. Lagona deserved a win. Personally I really like the kid. But he got lucky, it wasn't skill that won the race.....he virtually had no shot of winning if it ran the rest of the way. I completely agree it should count as a win, just not a record book win.
