FrontierGander
cva is easily in #2 spot. If it wernt for S&W buying TC, they'd have been under a couple years ago.
Tink
The man who bought it 2 year ago must have done some thing wrong Its a fine rifle well built Sad TINK
Heavy Metal
Boy that's a bummer if it's true. I planned on buying a TC Omega next year for quite awhile. However, I have recently been waffling because of the few Knight models I've seen on Cabelas. The price is right and I really like the styles they have. I still may go with a Knight, who knows. jesse8953
T/C has a lifetime warranty, probably not much of a warranty with knight.

Started out with a Knight and realized there was no knight and day comparison between the two tc takes all. And the knight just snaps
treeinwalker
Gotta agree with that. I'm looking for my first m.l. right now, but I gotta say that it seems to me the T/C quality would be hard to beat. I'm looking for a rifle that will last many lifetimes. I don't mind paying for that. As long as it's within someone's means, I think going for enduring quality is worth paying for. Being able to pass down freedom to a new generation is definitely worth paying for.
OHBucks
A few years back I bought a T/C Black Diamond XR and to be honest that by far is the best gun that I have ever shot. I know it's no pro hunter or encore or anything like that but for strictly muzzeloader and deer hunting that gun has been very hard to beat. Now my only decision is to switch to the shockwaves with it. So I would say if your going to buy something go T/C i was told a long time ago that was the only way to go and that's the truth. I have a .54 T/C Grey Hawk percussion and recently bought a T/C Omega Z5 in-line. T/C makes excellent products and gives a lifetime warranty. Personally, I wouldn't own anything but a T/C. For the money, you just can't beat them. The Z5 is a great low-end rifle that has all the quality you need. Other models offer different features (like a break-action) so just pick the one you like and can afford. My first time at the range with the Z5 gave a five-shot group (in four holes...all touching) that measured 1 1/8". With a little tweaking, I should be able to get that below an inch. That group was shot with 110 grains of Pyrodex RS and a Hornady 45 caliber (.452) XTP/MAG bullet in a HPH 3-Petal sabot. If this powder load winds up to be my most accurate load, I'll switch to the HP/XTP bullet which has a thinner jacket and opens better at slightly lower velocities. WhiteSmoke
Re: My earlier postI just got back from the range after shooting the Hornady HP/XTP's. As I figured, it used the same load as the XTP/MAG's I have been shooting. With 110 grains of Pyrodex RS, the HP/XTP's grouped at .75", much better than the MAG's. I shoot a T/C Omega Z5. T/C's are known for tight bores and mine is no exception. I had to go with the HPH 3-Petal sabots for a correct fit but boy does it shoot! Another bonus is that the HP/XTP's are designed to work best at lower velocities so the combination of a 110-grain load and an HP bullet is damn near perfect. Hoosierbuck
You guys bad mouthing Knight quality are, IMHO, talking out your posteriors. I have several and all are shooters. But then again, what would I know, I just go hunt and kill things with them, I am no internet expert. I have an Encore PH 50 ML barrel, but it's been in the clam pack for two years. I got a deal on it, but I don't need it. The Knight hunts. The parent company that bought Knight from Tony- EABCo. will stand by the warranty and provide parts and service according to their statement. Tony Smotherman
Hey Guys, I just stopped by the smokepole section and noticed all the chatter about Knight Rifles. I just wanted to let everyone know that all Knight models will be warranted for the next 2 years possibly up to 5 years. Don't worry, if you see one on the shelf somewhere and you like it..get it as it does still have a warranty with it. All parts and accessories are still available to get also if needed. Hoosierbuck
I just did that...got a Long Range Hunter from Cabela's on clearance for few pesos. I am as giddy as a school girl since the UPS man showed up with my new Knight today. That makes 4 of them in the safe! (I killed my biggest buck with the least expensive and very first one, though...) HB
Tony Smotherman
Congrats on the LRH!! I have lots of then stacked in my vault. If you have any ?'s on it just holler. It was my favorite gun when I worked at Knight.
Hoosierbuck
PM'd you, Tony. I got the forest green laminate without the thumbhole. My short digits and meaty hands don't fit thumbholes very well. I have always liked the way Knight stocks felt in my hands. I had a thumbhole on my .45 DISC Extreme (got it direct from Knight through the hunter education instructor discount program) and have killed several deer with it, but it still doesn't feel just right on my hand. I just now realized that I can swap out that stock for the regular one on my .50 original disc, which I love the feel of. I see that Knight has the laminate stocks for Extreme guns on sale on the website for just over a hundred, and I really wish I could put one of those on my .45, but I just blew my cash on the LRH. I am giving the disc to one of the boys in a few years, I just hope he likes the thumbhole. Flintlock1776
Wow, I did not hear they were going out of business. I held back from getting one due to their proprietary gizmo to hold the charges in the gun when they first came out. I just went to their site: http://www.knightrifles.com/ Good time for folks to buy up some back up accessories just in case
Hoosierbuck
Most of the later guns had alternative charging where you could either use the red plastic thingy or go with a straight primer. The red plastic thingy made a nice watertight seal between the primer and the firing pin on the one side and the flash hole on the other. Tony Smotherman
Yea, the red plastic jackets made those guns 100% water tight and also stopped most of the blow back from coming into the breech which made for easier cleaning at the end of the day.
