muggs
For the first time, we lived up to our team name (we go by the "Champs" even though we've never won the league). We decided we'd change it to the Chumps if we didn't win anything this year. Anywho- we needed to take 23 1/2 points to win the first half, and we eeked out 25. That means we'll play the winners of the second half in the championship round at the end of the season. I thought I blew it for us because I got royally sandbagged. I was giving this guy 7 strokes and he ended up hitting his first drive about 315 yards right down broadway. I shot a 41 which is really good for me, and this dbag shot a 44 and I only took 3 holes and halved two. Apparently, the guy is just a sub and he hadn't played in the league in over an month and the two times he did play, it was early in the year and the guy didn't have good rounds... Tominator
41. Dang, that's pretty good. I better keep my mouth shut if we ever golf again. I went out on father's day with the old man, my brother and my son played for the first time. I was medalist with a 47. Dad shot a 54, my brother shot a 51, and Joe took a double snow man--88. Still, I have it in me shoot a high round every now and then. I played Quail Hollow in Concord on Friday and shot a 43 on the front and then a 50 on the back- greens were ridiculous though. tell Joe not to worry, I've seen worse first rounds than that. Heck, Sarah's dad has been playing golf for 12 years and he shot 112 at Quail. Edited June 29, 2009 by muggs
VABuckSlayer
Congratulations Muggsy! I'm leaving for vacation later today and I'll be playing golf this week for the first time in a year. Should be an ugly round!
