wtnhunt
Some plants are pickier than others and require the ph to be within a range that those plants can tolerate. What did you plant? Did you get a soil sample to know how much lime and fertilizer you need? Lime if needed and how much was needed should have been spread and worked in well before planting. If your plot is thin there could be other factors, poor germination or seed too deep would be my first guess.

PotashRLS
My first blind guess would be that it was shaded too much and that the soil may not be adequate. Again, its just a guess.

bowhtr1
Clover does not grow well in the summer. You would be better off waiting until September to plant clover. The heat of the summer will not let the clover grow well. You will get weeds taking over the plot. Get a soil sample now. If you need lime you need to get it out soon. It takes time for the lime to do its job in the soil. The soil test will tell you what the proper fertilizer and lime you need. You will also need sunlight, without this your plot will fail. Roundup the plot in August. Plant with the proper fertilizer in Sep.
