WaCoyote
I've kind of stumbled upon an area that holds quite a few Bobcats. Took one last week and brought it to the taxidermist. Yesterday while hunting I saw two more. I can't afford having two done at once but would like to full body mount the next one I get. Not to mention the fact that I had never even seen one until last week, so I want to hunt them more. They really are awsome little creatures. Would it be adviseable to freeze it for a year or so? I like my marriage, so spending 1000.00 + on Bobcats in a few weeks time would not be good. I also want to really concentrate on a bear this year so if I'm successful, thats another 125 per foot for a rug. I would think skinning first would not be good as it would open it up to freezer burn, but I don't know. If any of you guys with taxidermy experience would reply I'd be grateful. Thanks in advance. RTF
Re: Question about freezing animals A year will not be a problem. Wrap em up real good and you will be all set to go. Now about the wife part. You can get them done now as long as you spend money on her too. Get her something really nice and above and beyond what you would normaly get her for Valantines day this Monday, and you should be all set to go. But if it back fires, do not hold me responsible, as I can no longer be of assistance.
