redkneck
Despite being spoiled rotten by the kids, this little girl really takes to retrieving. Maybe, just maybe she'll make a trip with me this year, but I doubt she'll be more than a pet. Cell phone pics, sorry for the quality. Dakota
Ha! You have a lab and a daschund too! :D:D Let me guess...the daschund rules the roost, has brain-washed the lab into thinking she's the little dog and he's the big dog and that she obeys him. :D:D Sammy (the daschund) did that exact thing when we got Connie (the black lab) as a pup. He's now over 10 years old and she's almost 7. Nice looking dogs and family you got there. Dakota
redkneck
Thanks Dakota. The dachsund is about 6 now, and is a strange little dog that likes to sleep about 20 hours a day. He does have a passion for 4-wheeler riding though, and is a good tracker. The lab is about 8 mos old now and is about the best natured one i've ever owned, not that any i've had were bad natured, but she doesnt tear up the world, and is extra sweet to the girls. Yeah, those labs are the sweetest dogs, particularly the females. Connie is my "bestest girl" ( ) and best friend. Dakota
redkneck
The best thing I'll say about a dachsund is that you dont have to worry about anyone stealing them. Mine will absolutely avoid strangers, and just sit there and bark at them, despite being kicked in the butt and being told to shut up. Of course the lab would load up in the truck with anyone, and ride off into the sunset wagging its tail.

redkneck
If you dont love a good dog, I think you got a screw loose Great pics Dakota. I've yet to finish Suzy's training. She's still got some training to do as far as riding in the back of the truck, and some more obedience training. But one of the smarter ones I've had. I think the females are smarter, but my experience has been that they get their feelings hurt easy, so you gotta go slow with them. I had a black female once, and if I scolded her too bad, she'd bury her head in my crotch like an ostritch in the sand, lol...... then she'd be done for the day. You scold Connie and she has this poor pitiful "I wish I had never been born" look on her face. Then your heart just melts. :D:D Dakota
