nastynissan4487
Anybody shooting the crimson talon xts? Have been seeing them advertised and was thinking about trying them this year. Was gunna try the Rage 2 but have been spooked away from them because of the horror stories of the blades opening in the quiver and in flight.. Have always shot Muzzy 100grain 3 or 4blades depending on the mood Im in that hunting season but thought about giving the talons a try.. Anybody got any experience with them or should I just stick with the muzzys?..
Arkansas Boy
stick with the muzzy's. i shot the talons last year and lost my first deer. The broadhead was destroyed despite lack of penetration (supposed to be thicker durable steel). Will never shoot them again
The_Kat
I'm not sure what they are, but I was thinking of trying the crimson talon originals this season. Do u have a link to the XT's?
nastynissan4487
Thanks for the info, any more opinions are welcome but I think just that spooked me away from the talons.. The_Kat
This will more than likely be the BH I shoot this season.
MUDRUNNER
I've been using the Crimson Talons for a few years now. I've probably killed 5 deer with them and never had any issues. Every shot was a pass thru and I've never had one go more than 50 or 60 yards. Most of them i cleaned up and put back in my quiver. They fly great and leave a good blood trail. The only down side is target removal and sharpening.
Arkansas Boy
that's another good point. I have a broadhead sharpener but with those curved blades, it's useless.
Guest bowhunter56
Always heard blades were too thin, i switched to the G5-striker, and theyfly great...
