wtnhunt
Sure could have done without the high winds.:bummed::no: First planting of corn(peaches and cream) is/was just over a week from being ready to be picked. Not so sure how the corn is going to turn out, broke a few stalks trying to get to the pepper plants. Been a terrible year for the garden this year, floods early on then a dry June. Guess on the flipside at least our beans and tomatoes are doing well. Picked up and staked all the pepper plants while the ground was still plenty soft, think they will be fine. Alisha
Oh man, what a shame! Hopefully you will be able to get some corn out of it.

This has happened to us before, but never this close to harvest time. Usually have plenty of corn to share with family and give some away, cut way back on how much I planted this year, may end up with very little if any at all to share.

Yep, some will probably straighten out some on its own, unfortunately I am afraid right now while the corn is silking is the most critical time for it to absorb moisture. Hopefully the root systems will not be disrupted too bad and the corn kernels will be ok.
redkneck
Hate to see it, William. Just the wet stuff here, no winds to speak of. It's bad though when you wake up to see a lot of hard work on the ground.
Tominator
Yep, I hate when that happens. Seems to happen to at least one plot a year. If they got pollinated ok, they will be fine. You'll just have to lift each stalk and pick.
buckee
The farmers have been praying for rain here too, but it sure came down hard last night and this morning, along with wind, thunder and lightning. I hope you didn't loose too much buddy.
