Dakota
I have a weird situation as far as my sights go; my top pin is my 10-15 yard pin, but my next one down covers 20-30 yards. Is this even possible? As far as the other two pins, I'm thinking of using them for 40 and 50 yard pins. Thanks! Dakota
Orion_70
Why don't you simplify it and just use one pin?
jm23494
I have a four pin sight and have it set for 20, 30, 40 and 50 yards. I found that my shots don't start to drop off until i get to about 25 or so yards so. So for anything 20 yards and under I just hold my 20 yard pin where I am aiming. When I'm in between pins i usually estimate.
buckee
I used to have a 10, 20, 30 and 40 yrd pin, but with the faster new bows, it's best to go 20, 30, 40 ect. Your 20 yrd pin will cover you from 0 - 20 yards no problem Dakota.

Dakota
Thing is though, I'm able to use my 20 yard pin @ 30 yards as well. So I have a 10-15 yard pin, a 20-30 yard pin and then a 40 yard pin and 50 yard pin. My top two pins are versatile. Dees this work often? rhine16
Why not set your top pin for 25 or thirty?? There can't be much difference in that 15 and 20 pin.
buckee
Try it .
hutchies
It shouldn't.....................I've never seen a bow need a 10 to 15 then the 20 and 30 hit the same hole.
The_Kat
No way your hitting dead money at those yardages at 10-30 yards. You should be high 2 inches or less at 20 and dead nuts at 30 if your using the same pin. I bet your form and the way your shooting at those known distances is causing you to adjust without realizing it. I did this for 3 weeks before I caught on to it, and let me tell you its a HARD BAD habit to break!
Dakota
Thanks all for your comments, I figured it out...top pin is 15-, next is 20, 30 and 40. Had a good round today and am ready to go for the start of leagues tomorrow. Dakota
hutchies
Ditch the 15 and start at 20 bud. Your 15 and 20 will be so close that you will have problems gapping cause your pins will be so close
Dakota
True...and they really don't vary that much anyways...but my bottom pin is basically at the very bottom of the sight...will I still be able to convert that to 50 if I want? Thanks, Hutch! Dakota
hutchies
50 and 60 are fun to shoot at and great practice. I got out tonight and was shooting 4 inch groups at 60 with my new release. Gotta love it when you pickup a new release and it just fits you like a glove.

Thanks, Hutch! Dakota If your 40 yard pin is at the bottom of the your sight cage, then your first pin isn't center or just slightly off center within your sight cage. Everything should follow off the first pin. Move your cage down and adjust all the pins up; this will give you better visability while shooting as well and just might accomodate you for a 50 yard pin. I hunt with Copper John Dead Nuts and have plenty of room for a 50 and 60 yard pin. My tourney sight has 4 pins with the bottom being a 50 and still room for a 60 pin if I want it. The speeds on all three bows are over 280 fps, if you are shooting anywhere near these speeds you should have no problem of getting 4 to 5 pins in any sight. It just sounds like you needs to get a few things adjusted to meet the needs you are wanting with your bow.
johnf
I'm shooting a youth bow at 43lbs and 27" for 240fps. My top pin is at 20 yards and shoots within an inch or so in to 12 and a little low at 25. My other pins are 30,40,45 and 50. I'm getting new limbs that should get me going a little faster and I may move the bottom two pins down to get me out to 55 yards. I would ditch that 15 yard pin. sskybnd
i have a 10 20 30 40 50 60, though i can hit every thing 20 yards and down with the 20 yard, i realy dont need the 10, but becouse i shoot over so many deer at very close ranges, i'l keep it, could go to 70 or 80 yard pin theres still an inch or better to the bottom of the sight, theres not much space between the other pins to start with. earnhardts12000
too many pins would confuse me besides don't plan on shootin over 35 yrds at deer. shot my buck last yr at 6yrds on ground in wideopen never shot deer over 40 yrds
Ethan Givan
My pins are 20, 30, and 40. My 20 yard pin hits dead on at 10 yards so i dont bother with having one.
johnf
Got the new limbs on. Now I'm shooting 20,30,40,50, 60 yards. Drop the short pin and go out further.

If I hunted 20 minutes after my pins are no good, then I would be hunting in the pitch dark.

Doc
Thanks all for your comments, I figured it out...top pin is 15-, next is 20, 30 and 40. Had a good round today and am ready to go for the start of leagues tomorrow. Dakota I'm trying to figure out how you are getting separate pins for 15 yards AND 20 yards. If I did that, both pins would be almost laying on top of each other and almost indistinguishable from each other. Heck that was true even back in my 40# recurve days. I literally could not fit a 20 and a 15 yard pin on my sight. Doc
